Gone With the Wind

Never seen it until today. Yeah, it's a masterpiece.

5/5

Ghost Rider is quite enjoyable, at least for the first 70 minutes and Cage is having a blast. Then it becomes generic and a little bit dull. There's also a few great looking shots in this that I forgot about.

Looking forward to revisiting the sequel.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance feels like some weird cheap pseudo follow up/retelling of Blaze's origin with no care for continuity (including that awful wig he wore in the first). Sometimes it's like watching a music video and it's edited horribly.

However, Cage is allowed to be a bit more unhinged in his performance so that's a plus.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight

I thought it was really good. It's been a while since I read the elseworlds book, but I can see they've changed up a few things. I really dug the animation choice and the voice cast was pretty damn good. Bruce Greenwood is back as Batman and it was like he never missed a step and Jennifer Carpenter did a pretty good job as Catwoman. The dialogue and script I found refreshing because it wasn't written to appeal to teenagers for once. It's written by Jim Krieg who written some of the best stuff from DC. Overall, although it's not a direct adaptation of the book, on it's own... it was really well made.
9/10

Now you know why I suggested that you should ignore the first movie.

MY FAIR LADY (1964)
Quality = 8/10
Joy = 9/10

So this makes it the third old classic musical film for me to watch this month, and the only one to not be a biopic (The King and I being a musical makes no real sense, but they somehow made it work really well). Some of the songs can be skipped easily and you wouldn't feel like you missed something, almost everything else is great to sit through, a triumph of a film, and I'm generally not a fan of musicals.

Whatever ideas they might have for a newly made remake, it won't live up to this remake of an old play. I DOUBT, with CONFIDENCE.

It really hurts that three of the stars of this film (one of them is the singing voice for Eliza Doolittle) had different variations of cancer.

Lol. I wanted to watch both to get the full Cage experience!
At least you didn't find it a complete waste of time, that's a nice gift from Mr. Cage. :D

Darkest Hour - I enjoyed it. Oldman was great, as were some of the supporting performances. I do think the film looked a little drab though, and you could have called it "Big Speeches: The Movie". Still it was effective. - 7.5 / 10

Spider-Man: Homecoming

I liked Holland but not much of the film.

The 15:17 to Paris 1.5/5

Probably Clint's worst film. Using the real life people to play themselves ended up being the least of the film's problems, as the script is horrible, with terrible dialogue and useless scenes thrown into an unnecessarily dragged out narrative, with Clint's directing being massively off for everything except the actual train sequence.
