Audition
I did enjoy Audition, but the change in pace was a bit bothersome, even to the point where it didn’t feel like the same movie I began to watch. But, Audition will leave you with a lot to think about, so, first time around, focus and take in as much as you can, or you might be in for second viewing.
Troll 2
Troll 2 is not the worst movie of all time; I can give you a list of real pieces of garbage. There’s enough surreal moments of hilarity in there to keep you entertained. I found while being amused at this films cappers, it did feel like time slowed down, and that’s not a good sign…ever! I must have checked the remaining time left at least six times. With films like these, I love hearing about they got made, and the only logical next step is to watch Best Worst Movie!
Best Worst Movie
Best Worst Movie reveals the passion these fans share for one movie, from spreading the word about it and making new friends. We also see the other side of the coin like wrecked careers and the frustration that comes with it. I highly recommend this documentary, even if you haven’t seen Troll 2.
Second Skin
This documentary presents an idea and doesn't really know where to run with it. The whole film felt like a set-up to nothing.
Manborg
This low-budget one hour Canadian film will appeal to fans of badly dubbed Kung Fu movies, Nazis, video games, demons, cyborgs, rubber masks and trashy action movies from the 80′s…it even has love. Manborg is intentionally bad, and while that could have backfired on director Steven Kostanski, it succeeds on what it sets out to do – It’s lovable trashy fun.
Midnight Son
Let most vampire films, Midnight Son did nothing for me. The flick does take a didn't approach to it, but scenes just become repetitive and lack luster.
Calibre 9
An ex-****e soul transfers to a gun and uses a man to take down the french government, what's not to love? The film is packed with over-the-top moments that are down-right hilarious.
Slice and Dice: The Slasher Film Forever
A great insight to the Slasher genre with sit-down interviews from legends, to washed up actors.
Eurocrime! The Italian Cop and Gangster Films That Ruled the '70s
Eurocrime is a fantastic documentary that takes you through the history from spaghetti westerns to the crazed gangster films in Italy. The methods the italians used to direct and how the mob had influence on some shoots is fascinating. With the run time of 2hr 17mins, it could've been trimmed down.
V/H/S
A film I was looking forward to viewing, turned out to be meh. From unlikable characters to unexplained stories, it just felt disjointed. I did enjoy the last tape viewing, but that was really it.
Dracula: Prince of Darkness
I loved the set designs and atmosphere, but Lee being the highlight, only gets little screen time. The main cast aren't engaging or interesting enough to carry the weight of this film.
American Mary
Katharine Isabelle is a fantastic lead, delivering her sarcastic lines with great timing. The films got some great gore, stylish set-ups and great character development.
Among Friends
Among Friends didn’t set out to win prestigious awards for it’s cinematography, score, acting etc (film was shot in 10 days). It set out to be a trill ride in my eyes. It’s funny, but looming with a nice pace to it that will keep you engrossed with characters who bounce off each other with a swiftness. Don’t let the low budget put you off, just sit back, relax and enjoy this gem of a flick.
Young Frankenstein
A great parody of the 1930's Frankenstein. The cinematography is impressive and marvelous to look at through all the wild laughs.
