The Magnificent Ambersons - 9/10
I suggest you go watch something that you really love. It will make you forget about W______ for a while.

Chernobyl Diaries
This movie should've been called "Dumb White People Diaries" because that was pretty much it. Almost none of the common sense was put into this, and yeah the concept of going to Chernobyl might be interesting the execution of it was terrible. The only thing that was going for this movie was the shots of Chernobyl itself, it was haunting to see. The 2nd half was so missed on all points of a horror film it made me wonder what the point was making this film.

"Hey, guys, let's all go to Chernobyl. What could possibly go wrong?"
It's not even clever. I mean it just sets itself up for a found footage film.
Then what was the point exactly...?

I seem to be the only one here who wasn't a fan of Fincher's film. You didn't think the stuff after the case felt tacked on? I still don't know what the hell she was trying to do for him and I didn't really care that much because the movie should have ended already.
I started watching Apocalypse Now to remedy my inner pain.
Believe me, I can list a million things wrong with the core story.
You know a film is bad when you need Apocalypse Now to cheer you up. I think XO:W may be my Bane too.

The Last Man On Earth

The best adaptation of I Am Legend? Probably I love that it really gets right what the later two only scratched the surface of: the horror elements. When Morgan's (Neville's) wife comes home its pretty f***n creepy. The vampires/creatures are probably more accurate and they are certainly more disturbing that the CGI foolishness in the Will Smith version of I Am Legend. The one scene in that movie where the creatures were people in suits was the most disturbing involving them.
Vincent Price does a good job of playing Morgan, especially when the stress of it all starts to get to him at night while these things claw at his house telling him they are going to kill him.
Last Man On Earth is also the only adaptation that even comes close to the society/status quo examining ending of the original Richard Matheson story. But you can see that side of that throughout the movie as Morgan stakes these creatures. The ending is like a flashbulb that shows all those scenes in a new light.
I've always wondered if Richard Matheson ever tried to adapt I Am Legend for The Twilight Zone? It would've had to be cut down to fit into an hour but TZ would have been a great forum to keep the spirit of the story.
You can really tell how the novel and this movie influenced George Romero and Night of The Living Dead. He's said it has in the past but after watching TLMOA it becomes clear how it was such a strong influence.
