Which actors do you think should be the next James Bond?

Yeah, I love it when people waltz into a thread, just to more or less call people idiots for their suggestions and then offer no insights of their own.

*Waltzes into thread*

Rowsdower you idiot, those are terrible suggestions!

I'm not even going to bother offering my insight as to who should be Bond. :o :oldrazz:

For some reason, James McAvoy keeps coming to mind. I really think that he'd be an interesting choice, and obviously quite different than Daniel Craig.

Did you see that new photo shoot that Riz Ahmed from Rogue One did? He would be a really interesting choice for a modern Bond. Let's be honest, if Bond started today he wouldn't be an Oxbridge educated white boy.

Jon Hamm

Those limey bastards steal our characters all the time, time to swipe her majesty's crown jewel!

POWERSHIFT BABY!

Sorry Americans can't be James Bond. It's in the constitution

Danny McBride.

Like Riz Ahmed he's had a successful HBO TV series come out to much acclaim, and like Riz Ahmed he's recently joined a big budget space epic franchise. Really he's ticking all the boxes here, and his presence would bring James Franco into the fold as the new M. EON would be insane not to take him.

Damn. The only thing Riz has against him, IMO is that he's so short.

I'm not a Bond fan, but I'd watch if Idris Elba was Bond.

I think Craig is short also? It's all about the camera angles.

Idris would be incredible but I'm worried he might already be too old

Nolan to direct and Bale to star.

Yea, Nolan to direct, and write, is the only Bond thing I'm waiting for. Just a Nolanesque version of Bond. I think Inception actually was something like that.

And Bale to star? Well, when I think about it... He and Nolan makes a great team, he's and excellent actor and Bond is supposed to be somewhat psychopathic, which Christian is really good at, so, man... Bale would make a fantastic Bond.

Even Craig has a few inches on Ahmed. But you're right, camera angles are key.

Idris is younger than Craig, I think he'll be okay.

Riz is the kind of Oxbridge guy the British secret service is probably trying to recruit right now.

I'm not sure riz would want to play bond given his politics and views of the British establishment. The bond franchise has always been a bit more patriotic and less critical than the Bourne franchise for example.

James norton is an actor who is frequently mentioned as a future bond here in the UK.

For some reason, James McAvoy keeps coming to mind. I really think that he'd be an interesting choice, and obviously quite different than Daniel Craig.

He's my top pick. He has dramatic chops, he has action chops (Wanted), and he's Scottish. Right age for a "young" Bond too.

Henry Cavill is my #2 because he's ripped straight out of an Ian Flemming novel.

I second this. F*** everyone who says an American can't play Bond. Two Brits have played Spider-Man and another one played Superman. Stop holding us back! Last time I checked, it wasn't 1775! :cmad:

::cue homophobes freaking out about a gay man playing Bond::

Didn't stop him being cast as Dracula, in which I think he did a good job.

Yea but Dracula's kinda swishy anyway.

I'm being facetious, I think Evans is a decently plausible choice.

He might be a tad on the old side, given that these films now run on a 4 year cycle rather than a 2 year cycle. I think whoever they get next will be someone between 30-35, in order to get a nice lengthy run with the character. He's a great actor though and I'd love to see him in the franchise....another shot at Dracula.

British, male and white.

All the rest is acting, i can't care less if the actor is gay, as long as he plays Bond as straight.

*eagerly await SJWs rants about Idris Elba or any other nonsense*

a bit of an unconventional choice, but, has/would anyone consider(ed) James D'arcy?

They should go after Charlie Hunnam. After King Arthur And His Sword makes $1.7 billion (domestic) at the box office and is nominated for multiple Oscars, he's going to be the biggest name in Hollywood. And Hunnam can do a great English accent as long as he's playing an American. Eon would be fools not to pursue him.

There's something about James McAvoy that reminds me of a hobbit, so no thanks. I nominate Aidan Turner.
