Which Mask for Cobra Commander

I've always prefered the battle mask, but I wouldn't mind seeing him use both.

I see no reason not to use both the hood and the helmet. Just like others have already said - use the hood when Cobra Commander is busing scheming in hidden bases and switch out for the helmet with mirrored face plate when on the battlefield.

I don't mind the helmet, I just posted the hood pic because I think it looks badass^^

Whatever they do, I hope they don't show us his face. Even if he goes into civvy mode with a baseball cap I'd like his face to stay shadowed.

And now I can't get Gary Oldman out of my head. That would be beyond awesome.

I hope he does not have the CobraLa origin like in the show. It really would detract from the credibility of the film I think. He was so much better in the comics as a megalomaniac

They could call him "The Commander" during spoken dialogue. Cobra Commander can be his official title.

It's not a name perse, but a title. He's 'The Cobra Commander'. As you said, you could refer to him as 'The Commander', or just 'Commander' or his full title.

His name shouldnt be a problem in the least.

I'd go with the hood. Not saying he should be a white supremacist or anything, but the hood reminds me a lot of the KKK, which helps reinforce his image as an underground political radical.

If anyone can grab a picture of it, in SIGMA 6, Cobra Commander wore a combination. He wore a helmet over his cloth hood.

As much as I would love to see the Sigma 6 type mask/helmet and suit it would serve the movie better to make his suit more reality based. I think he should look like one of those crazies who dress in military or pseudo-military garb.

well i think with a better budget and a decent tailor that outfit could work.

I agree with shapeshifter dont forget that with better artist and designer better light and camera effect and of course better music you can change the movie from silly to serious!

The hood looks bad on a real person and there's not a whole lot a tailor could do to redesign a piece of cloth with two eyeholes.

I think the hood could work - you just have to go the spider-man route and design the hood to give him the classic comic 'shape' of the face beneath.


As to which mask - as many have already said - stick to the comics and their explanation: When he's just hanging around the Cobra base it's the hood. When he's personally overseeing a battle, the helmet/faceplate.

hes always been, in my eyes, somewhat vanity-concerned.

there have been some great movie villains with mask collections (though im totally drawing a blank on names), CC could totally have more than 1 outfit in the movie.
