Who do you want to see as Captain Marvel?

Marvel should cast younger actresses. Blunt is way too old.

I think Amber Heard looks the part. Not too old either.

Alexandra Daddario?

Maggie Grace?

Everything about this post is just ****ing terrible. I want to swat it with a rolled up newspaper for crapping in my floor.

Daddario is a terrible choice.

Or just say to hell with it and get Charlize Theron. I don't buy the ridiculous "too old" crap.

HELL yes! Why isn't she number 1 on that list. How could I have forgotten about Theron. I don't buy that too old crap either. Theron is like 37 or 38. Her age is good where she is a contemporary of the other Avengers save for the SW and QS. I don't want A Captain Marvel that's to young. This woman joined the armed forces and worked her way up through the ranks. She was a fighter pilot to boot so I don't buy some 27 or 28 year old pulling that off. A fighter pilot also has to do have a BA, which can take 3 to 4 years. Danvers isn't the Black Widow who trained from a a very young girl so I can buy her in her late 20's but Carol always seem to come off as closer to Stark's and some of the other Avengers age.

Man have you actually read Carol Danvers bio? She is not some young 25 or 27 year old starlet. Thank god Marvel don't listen to fanboys and they fantasy casting. Most of the guys fantasize about them 20 something actresses that is mentioned here and most are just so so in the way of talent. Well Grace is the oldest but she is not Carol Danvers at all. She has no commanding presence at all.

Danvers had a decent military career and she was a fighter pilot as well. She worked not sleep her way up the ranks. Actresses like Chastain, Blunt, Theron are the right age. They are also darn good actresses. I can buy any three of them as CM/Danvers. I'd like the role to go to Chastain or Theron first, Blunt is 2nd. I like Pike too but she fits Emma Frost to me more the Danvers but I'd be alright with here in the role.

Man I'm thinking the same thing when I read posts like this. Maggie Grace? Amber Heard? The chick from them Percy Jackson movies. Really????????

Says Blunt is too old yet suggests Maggie Grace whom is the same age.

she didnt have a typical career. She only retired to join NASA and the Air Force bumped her up to colonel when that happened. She didnt actually serve in active duty under that title when she left. Im not even sure what her rank was before the bump, but they made a special case for her which explains her young age. Besides,we have no clue what her rank will be in this film. They may make it a bit more realistic and have her introduced as an early 30s woman who is not a colonel

Even with your explanation she isn't going to be some chick in her 20's and nor should Marvel cast her that young. This isn't an Ashley Olsen/SW character they are casting. It's Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, not Tigra or Crystal the Inhuman. Danvers is older period. I don't want no exception to be made where we are supposed to suspend belief and go "oh she was a military protege and that's why she's 26" Um no. I can accept 33 or 34 but I'm not accepting an actress like Heard or any other that's mention who still in their 20's. My top picks are Theron and Chastain. They also have presence and can carry a movie especially Theron.

Margot Robbie all the way! That woman can act! She's so perrfffeeeccttt!!!! She's so perrffeeeeccccttttt!!!! I don't care if she ends up getting Harley Quinn - people have played multiple characters before. :)

OMG are you serious. She's like 24, Come on man. Cast her as Crystal and then you got my support

When have I pitched to have the character be in her 20s? Even in the post you quoted, I specifically mention 30s for her...

Hemsworth (same age as Blunt) and Evans (2 years older than Blunt) are way too old, you're right. And don't get me started on RDJ, Ruffalo and Renner. Or if we're just talking specifically too old for this role...well you're still equally as wrong there.

I think that one of the problems is that even if Carol is supposed to be older (and IDK if the comics have bothered to establish her actual age), she doesn't LOOK much older. Seriously, look at her and then look at one of the heroines who are in their 20's, there's not much of a physical difference between them. You wouldn't look at Carol without any context and guess that she was much older than those younger characters. It's a problem with a lot of comic book art, EVERYONE has to look like a supermodel, or at least that's how it comes across in the art.

I'm fully aware of her career history and I still believe early thirties is slightly pushing it (though acceptable), but a twenty-something is damn near out of the question, unless they are a VERY mature-seeming twenty-something with lots of gravitas, and I don't think that applies to any of the younger candidates mentioned in this thread. I have seen 25-year-old Brie Larson mentioned here a few times, and she's the only one mentioned in that age bracket that I could see fitting the bill in 4 years. Maybe.

I think they can cast slightly younger. They don't need to specify that Carol is in her late 20s but leave it open ended so that she could reasonably be in her 30s as well. An advantage of being younger is that the actress will hopefully look younger for a longer period in real life whereas one in her late 30s or early 40s will be looking older by the time several movies have been made.

Um... Aren't you a fanboy fantasy casting as well?

LOL @ forum hypocrisy.

I was way, way more respectful than this when I disagreed with Theron being cast and a few people had a fit. :whatever:

The dude called Blunt too old and then listed Grace who is the same age as well as much lesser actress. If that ain't a troll post then I'm Margaret Thatcher.

Of course I am but at least I put thought into it as opposed to some chick just looking hot and blonde. Why in the world would a casting director cast Amber Heard or that Robbie chick in a role that character has been a senior military officer that worked her way up the ranks and went to west point if I'm not mistaken and became a Captain in the Us Airforce and had an impressive career in the military before she became Ms Marvel. She afterwards built a superhero career as Ms Marvel and had her battle with demons and eventually took the name Captain Marvel. This is a woman of experience not some 25 year old woman who some of you here just want because she's hot. They don't even have the maturity or the gravitas for this character that would come with an older actress. This is a character that goes toe to toe with guys like Stark and it needs to be believable that she can hold her own in terms of experience with the likes of Captain America too. I just can't buy a girl in the role. An actress like Heard will come across as more sassy and smart mouthed when debating with RDJ. Just like how the interaction between Buffy and Giles was.

As i've said if you need an actress for Crystal The Inhuman or Tigra then these two would do but not for Ms Marvel/Captain Marvel.

Kate Hudson's alright too. I can see her on the role

Man you're wasting brain cells on some of these guys. Thank god they don't have a say in casting because the Avengers cast would've look like The cast of the Glee or Twilight where everyone is under 30. I may be giving too much leeway cause after reading that Blunt is too old then I know the female heroes would've been no more then 25.

These guys like these women cause they are hot, they don't care about acting chops as much. If choosing a Maggie Grace over much much better actresses like Blunt or Theron or Chastain then that should tell you where their mindset is. As long as they can remember the lines and look good in the costume then they are fine.

Hahaha I have no idea. I was just randomly throwing out names.

Blunt is way too old for me.

Should we look at people who has the look or someone can can play a military role well?

Wow, having different opinions makes me a troll?

Wouldn't that makes a lot of people trolls?

Don't act so high and mighty. I've lurk here since the first X-Men movie. I just don't post much.

Heck, why don't you go to a military camp and find your Carol Denvers. Jesus Christ.

Good lord this post is pretentious, as was your previous one. You are not capable of reading the others poster's minds and determining their motivation for why they want certain women cast. You have no way of knowing how much "though they put into it". Even if they are motivated by looks that's fine as everyone does this. I think you're being dishonest if you say attraction isn't playing some part in your choices as well. The fact their choices are different from yours does not make them less intelligent.

So to sum it up, your opinions are awesome and criticizing them is stupid. But differing ones deserve to be mocked and are trolls. Got it

If I had to guess I'd say he wasn't really aware of the ages.
