First Avenger Who Is Composing?

Well done. Here's a cookie dyed to look like Captain America's shield.

Shouldn't the name of this thread be changed by now?

This is from someone who wants Silvestri to score every superhero/ comic book movie that's starts a franchise (new or old). But that's nice that you finally got your wish. Hopefully Silvestri will deliver the goods for this.

Ha ha! I've always thought he's a good first choice for this kind of film, let's put it that way...and I'd take him over Elfman for just about anything, too. But if one film gets him, it's not like I want another film to also have him too a the same time.

I'm still excited about Silvestri. The best-case scenario for me, from the beginning, is that this movie would feel the way Silvestri's music sounds. Exciting and all-american in a completely genuine way.

Looking at this picture of Cap while listening to the song below from 3:03-4:04 gives me fanboy chills.

Cap was and still is one of my favorite MvC characters. As cool as it would be, there's no way it would ever be possible to do something like that for the movie,,

Doyle knocked Thor out of the park as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully this marks a new standard of Marvel Studios scores. Cautiously optimistic about Silvestri.

Doyle didn't exactly achieve making Thor's score identifiable as being a Thor score, in my opinion. I mean, for me, hearing it wouldn't make me identify it with Thor - instead it's just another fantasy score.

A score like Iron Man's is quite unique, and a character/world spurred score for Thor is what I was hoping for - especially for the tracks related with Asgard.

I'm sure to be pleased with whatever Alan S. arranges considering what he's done in the past, but I'm hoping for a stronger feeling when I hear it.

There is an obvious theme in Thor, maybe not as amazing as other scores, but the present score is great.

I imagine the score elevates the scenes. The IM2 score was underwhelming and the IM score was good, but not great.

I could hum the theme from Sons of Odin...thats enough to tell me the score is good.

I've liked all 4 MCU film scores so far. My only issue was with IM2's score as it was played in the actual movie. I thought a few times that they didn't make the volume of the score loud enough to hear it over the rest of the movie(especially during the Monaco race). But I guess that's an editing criticism, rather than one of the actual score, which I liked. I'm sure I'll like whatever Silvestri cooks up for Cap. BTW, anyone have a clue who they think is likely to score The Avengers? Whedon's not like other directors who've done multiple films and had a chance to find out who they like working with(composer-wise). He's only done Serenity. And I kinda doubt David Newman'll have the chops for this.

Iron Man sounds like a 13 year old messing on a guitar. Thank god Marvel had the sense to ditch that.

TIH had a gorgeous love theme. But the action stuff was largely forgettable IMO.

Debney gave Iron Man the orchestral strength it needed. But I dunno about anyone else, but I strongly got the impression that Debney was asked to ditch themes. Still I dig it. Hope he's back for the third.

I also don't think Doyle's score is fantasy at all. Cosmic is what I'd use, I get all these wonderful red/blue cosmic images when I listen to it. I think it's just fantastic. I've been humming the Thor theme and general Asgard theme since I got it. It's also the first MS score to get a great reception from the film score aficionados, who are really hard to please in general.

Like I said I'm hopeful for Silvestri. I just hope he can put The A-Team and G.I Joe behind him.

Marvel do need to be commended on their album lengths though. They hardly leave anything out.

Iron Man had an awesome score.
Iron Man 2 had a fantastic score.
TIH had a wonderful score.
Thor....holy crap yes.

I'm a fan of Silvestri. Hope he gets the feel of it. Looking forward.

Silvestri should be good, but so far TIH score is the sweetest of the MMU for me. I think the action pieces were the best of any recent comic book movie; I work out to them, and I'm pretty swoll. They are suspenseful but have a monster movie quality, a slow build and rewarding climax.

But honestly, action music is my least favorite, even of comic book scores. CRAZY.

I doubt that's the final art. That's only the first poster. Didn't the Thor soundtrack use one of the later posters?

The Thor score used the first black and white and red poster.
