Who should play Ms. Marvel if she gets her own film?

^That's not as bad. I still prefer something like EMH's design.

I thought the Tron version of her costume looked pretty good.

Okay, that art looks really good. I think I'd prefer the traditional long hair though.
That's one thing we definitely agree on. I like and have absolutely no problem with the current costume, but the new hair? Yeah, I'll concede "eyesore" on that one, lol.

The helmet is really what drove the eye sore home.

Well, I was kinda assuming it would be made of different materials considering the helmet would otherwise make it look top-heavy material-wise in real-life. For me, a live-action adaptation of that would look very different from a (fairly cheap-looking, imo) SHIELD body suit. Kinda like this:

Or some other kind of unique, more "alien-like" material.

At any rate, it makes more sense to me for Carol to have a costume reminiscent of theirs than anyone else, since she started out as a military woman like them herself.

Now Scarlett Witch, on the other hand? If we see concept art of her in a SHIELD-bodysuit-like costume, then yeah, I'll share your concern, lol.

That's an interesting design. The red undies break up the body suit... but they also melt into the sash, muting the effect. The stronger yellow trim does also break up the body suit clearly, not bad. But the thing is it's taken in context of other superhero films, even ones that don't share the same universe... like Superman.

So while it does make sense for Carol to look just like Widow and Hill... it just doesn't look good to me. It underlines that these heroines are not wildly unique like the male heroes, they're all military trained martial badarses who met up with some aliens and got some new gear, a standard issue uniform and a SHIELD contract (not necessarily in that order). That's not impressive to me, even if if it's the best thing. You gotta break that up. At least Agent Carter wears a bomber jacket. Having Scarlet Witch as such a distant outlier on every level, even allegiance, only underlines the similarities between all the other heroines that much more.

:whatever:

I guess it don't take much to "thrill" us guys when 8 inches of leg showing between knee boots and hot pants/skirt is considered "titillating".

"Been spendin' most our lives livin' in an Amish Paradise...."

Amen, brutha.
I'll be the first to admit that there's a TON of overtly sexualized costumes for females in the comics, some so pornographic they'd earn an NC-17+ rating if they were ever adapted to the big screen, but Warbird's one-piece ain't one of them. (And for the record: it's not a "black bikini." Not even *close* to being a bikini.) Granted, some artists went overboard on the cheeks by thonging up the suit, but not all artists put her ass on permanent display; so the only skin she was actually showing was a very little bit of thigh, and some bare shoulders. Anybody who gets their rocks off on *that* has a....well, we'll just call it a very specialized fetish.

That being said, I have to agree that *this* looks terrific for an MCU costume:

The main thing I'd ask of a Ms. Marvel costume is that it reflect the Kree uniform that Mar-Vell and the "Captain(s)" wear, because that gives a logical reason for her superhero costume. The costume should say: "I'm an officer in an alien military, not some chick headed to a cosplay convention."

Well that version looks terrible. Why did the artist shrink the opening at the top of the helmet into a little slot? :funny:

For the record, this is the version I'm talking about, and I think the helmet looks fine in action.

It's when she's NOT in action and the hair just has to be hair that things go downhill quickly, lol.

^Damn it! You guys took all the good ideas. :snaps fingers in anger:

I agree that these look good and since domino masks never work in live action I think this is the way to go for her. Maybe flip the reds and blues perhaps but that is a very good design that could actually work.

Soooo not digging the tron-look ones though.

Oh and Sackoff gets my vote for sure.

^I'm sorry I just don't like that at all...

Yep. I love it too that's why I posted it earlier.

Oh, is this concept art or fan art? because it's quite awesome! Although *if* Sackhoff was cast, I really wouldn't mind if they kept her hair short for Ms./Captain Marvel, or at least tied back more, seeing as how she's supposed to be a pilot.

The Captain Marvel comic book art by Dexter Soy (love him!) that flickchick linked to is stunning as well. I love the helmet on Carol there.

Really need a Ms. Marvel movie ASAP!
