"Age of Thunder" is canon?

As to the most recent run, doesn't Thor become one with Mjolnir? He is also unable to "ride the lighting" and transform into Blake without Mjolnir
i believe, which is why the break is such a big deal.

Why wouldn't it be and even if it wasn't his powers were still the same and he's done it several other times.

Also the most recent Thor run is "The Mighty Thor Vol. 1" and he doesn't transform to Blake without Mjolnir.

Age of Thunder is canon; it's simply an older Ragnarok cycle.

Yep, but it wouldn't matter anyway because he didn't do anything out of character or beyond his usual power set.

I consider everything since Ragnarok the "most recent run". They have played with the numbering and title too much in the last half a decade.

I thought he was completely out of character. It was kind of like Frank Miller writing Superman.

True story :word:

Nah, it just felt like a less modern more primitive version of Thor in my opinion.

He was a brute. But that's how Fraction writes him... :/

I've been away from comics for a long time but when I went to get back into some of them, that's where I started. I've found that it has entertained me in some unexpected ways so I like it, although I'm not that close to catching up with the present.

I was hoping for cap to lift thor's hammer. That would have made it great for me. but the movie was the best movie ever

Me too but not until Avengers 3 or against Thanos. It would have to be an event to truly showcase how Worthy Cap is and also have him convey the feeling of godly power once it's coursing through him.

I agree on it being saved for A3, but I want it to be more of a casual gesture like picking up Mjolnir and handing it to Thor.

Something like what I suggested earlier today? :word:

Anyone noticed that Whedon had all 3 Variatons of Thor in the film?

Orignal Thor - when he first appeared in the forest battle.

Ultimate Thor
- when he fought the Hulk in the helicarrier.

Copiel Thor
- aka chainmail, when he was fighting the Chitauri in the end.

SWEET MOTHER OF JOSS!

Yep I did and I think it was intentional, I'm not a fan of "ultimate" anything but the other two outfits were SWEET!

Picking up Mjolnir can't be a casual gesture. It would lose the meaning of the accomplishment which is an event. I can picture it as a last ditch effort against Thanos after him beating the avengers and them defeated and wounded scattered around. Thanos walks up to strike a deathblow to Ironman and Cap having lost his shield on the battle field is still standing by Thor's body and with a last ditch effort to help Ironman unthinkingly picks up the closest thing which is Mjolnir. Cap pauses as he is stunned by the awe of power he has just absorbed. Then looks to Thanos and unleashes a power-energy surge from Mjolnir, catapulting Thanos away from ironman before he could land the final deathblow. Thor then climbs to his feet and Cap and Thor have a moment...

Thats how it should be.

I loved Hemsworth's performance as Thor in the movie!! I finally got to see Avengers. :D Yay me. And for what it was 'worth' hehe, I enjoyed all of it!! But Hemsworth's portrayal of Thor impressed me the most. I loved it when Hulk punches him and says, "Puny God!" Lol.

I'm a huge Thor fan and him getting sucker punched by Hulk was the funniest scene in the movie for me. It was soo out of the blue. But then i was hoping Thor would do the same in a later scen to even up. But now that he didn't it would be hillarious if he did in Avengers 2 out of the blue just after a battle.

LOL then maybe in Avengers 3 during a similar pause after a battle, Thor and Hulk would both throw sucker punches at the same time knocking themselves out of the camera view. LOL it would be hillarious!

Hulk never called Thor a puny god.

he didn't?? I swear me and my friend heard him say it...or something like that.

He called Loki "puny god" after ragdoll-smashing the garbage out of him.

Impressive that Loki survived that.

You may not have heard it like me bc everyone in my theater was dying from laughter from what Hulk had just done and that line got drowned out in the laughter

He didn't say that to Thor

He smirked after punching Thor, didn't say anything.

I would love Thor to do the same or similar in Avengers 2 :D

Definately, I know Thor is alot more mature than Hulk and all but he's still a warrior first and foremost.

Ages of Thunder Thor was an ******** because that was Thor before he learned humility. I thought that was pretty clear.
