The Avengers "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be Hemsworthy, shall possess the power of Thor" - Part 3

And Thor knew this...... how?

That's the point he didn't know or care at that point, I clearly said "he was steaming mad at that point".

As a matter of fact that was the single hardest hammer blow in the entire film, it was also one of the few times he was actually angry. Like I said Thor hold's back alot kind of like Supes, but he looses control every once and awhile (he IS a Marvel hero).

So the ONLY guy he doesn't hold back for.... Is the weakest of the lot.

god of Many Portfolios just had "Bully" added to it :oldrazz:

It's not that simple dude, he was becoming increasingly angry towards the end of his fight with IM and Cap showed up "ordering him around".

I'm pretty sure he didn't know how strong or weak Cap was plus they were trying to take his BROTHER away from him.

Just think about that...

But by your own words, you do then admit that Thor was lucky he didn't kill Captain America, because he couldn't know if he would withstand the blow.

BT, I'm having fun here. This is a comicbook movie, I'm nitpicking on purpose (while laughing at someone else's nitpick somewhere else).

To be honest, I would have liked the Mjolnir / Shield shockwave to be bigger :D

You don't like trees, do you?:yay:

I don't like cgi trees at all, no. Evil things :D

I never said Thor was "lucky" he didn't kill Cap you did, luck wasn't involved it was clearly because of Cap's shield.

Oh ok I thought you were, it's just hard to tell sometimes on the internet.

I'm actually beyond excited for Thor 2 in a post Avengers world. Seeing Loki getting the old 'Venom in the eyes' treatment will be very gratifying.

Yep, the "Isle of Silence" is also an option however I think Loki's action cause for the "eye venom" treatment.

Could they pull that off with a PG13 rating?
Although I am looking forward to see some of the darker elements brought in, and with Alan Taylor involved I'm confident we'll get some of that

Definately, there's not blood and guts involved just venom dripping in Loki's eyes.

If it's a problem then they could just treat it like Loki's "eye socket" scene in TA.

Though Cap did use his shield to block the hammer blow, it would have been cool if it formed some kind of crater under him from such a hard blow. Or did it form a crater?

The shield absorbs kinetic energy so I think that what was done was ok.

Can't wait to see Thor taken up a notch after what they had him do in Avengers.

It didn't, and if it did it would have meant that the shield didn't absorb the force, which in turn means that Cap could be crushed under it.

I do hope to see Thor throw a lightning powered Mjolnir, from an elevated position, at someone on the ground so there's such an impact that it creates a big crater though.

Loved Thor's arrival down onto the street where Cap/Hawkeye/BW were fighting off some of the Chitauri ..... how he fried them with his lightening as he was about to land.

Man I wish we had more leagal GIFs lol

I will admit, the one disappointment that I had (and maybe this has been touched on already - so hard to follow the threads when they move quickly sometimes). Is that Thor's arrival wasn't *exactly* like it was when we first read about it in the leaked children's book several months ago. [BLACKOUT]Was really looking forward to the "as the ramp began to descend, a pair of hands suddenly grabbed it and ripped it all the way open." - was bummed when Thor simply landed on the walkway after IM opened it - no ripping to be had :csad:[/BLACKOUT]

Just a minor gripe though :cwink:

I was kind of disappointed by this detail too...

I can't wait for Thor 2 now. The ending was the perfect lead in and it will be fun to see how the events in TA play out in a Thor sequel.

Oh yes, yes I agree! I am absolutely curious to see how things unfold in Thor 2 what with Loki's punishment and
Thanos becoming a major force to be reckoned with in the future. Something tells me that Loki is just what Thanos needs to get his hands on the Inifinity Gauntlet.
That realization should cause Loki no end of grief and regret for exiling himself at the end of Thor, wishing he had made different decisions.

There were a lot of great lines, funny, meaningful, and perfect for characters, but I think my favorite one is "YOU WANT ME TO PUT THE HAMMER DOWN?"

This came after Thor shows up and tells Steve and Tony to stay out of family business, tries to reason with Loki again, and fights Iron Man. That line made me go, "Okay, Thor's ****ing awesome.". :D

Yep, that line was awesome and the following blow was probably the hardest hammer blow in the entire movie (the "uppercut" was 2nd).

Although Cap was doing the right thing by breaking up the fight, I definately see where Thor was coming from by not standing down.

Hell yeah that happened RIGHT before the shot in my avy, I'm actually suprised no one else has been talking about it.
