Surely Thor has to be the one who beats the Hulk and thus gets him on-side with the rest of the Team? I mean, given Hulk's battle against Ross's soldiers in TIH it's pretty unlikely he'll be tamed/brought round by any conventional human methods (unless Hawkeye does something off the scale).

A good old whack from Mjolnir might clear the Green one's head though......

Yep, I want him to try and fail because I'm tired of people bringing up that "Ultimate Avengers" cartoon when discussing if hulk can pick up Thor's hammer or not.

I don't want any Avenger definitively beating another. In terms of containing Hulk I wouldn't mind seeing all of them try & Cap be the one to succeed by whatever method, thereby proving himself to the others.

I'd rather Thor arrive in the middle of the battle and engage in Hulk in a one on one fight while the rest of the Avengers try evacuate the area and find out the source of the problem (maybe Loki's manipulation).

I'm sure there will be a Hulk Vs Thor fight but I don't want to see a winner as it would devalue the other team member. Would be great to see them really going for it destructively but I would prefer it end with Hulk escaping & then Iron Man chasing but also unsuccessfully trying to stop him (more briefly). The Cap leadership issue will have to be solved early on so this is a way to kill two birds with one stone.

Yeah, I'm hoping for a stalemate between Thor and Hulk ending with some untimely intervention causing Hulk to escape.

Surely if fights kicked out between the team then (just counting the main 4):

Thor would beat both Cap and Iron Man

Hulk would beat all

Cap would beat Iron Man (not sure on this one as I don't know enough about Cap).

Most people are saying that movie Thor is a great deal more powerful than movie hulk, so I wouldn't count him out just yet.

If we do see a Thor / Hulk fight, I'd love a scene where they are fighting in the air, flying/falling towards some innocent bystanders - Cap (still not 'in charge') shouts to IM to blast them both away from the civilians. He then gets to them both before they start again, and lays the verbal smackdown on them; telling them their ego almost cost people their lives.
Would accomplish a bit I think, especially showing them all he knows his way around a battlefield and will make the hard decisions to save lives.

Think it'd be quite cool.

Loki, his archenemy who we see him defeating in his own film, is one of the main catalysts that most likely results in the Avengers having to put aside their differences, let alone the fact that this film will deal with how Thor gets back to Earth when him being trapped in Asgard was left as a cliffhanger from his own film

Based on their respective movies I do not see how the Hulk could defeat thor. Thos is just as powerful or even more in some ways as in the comics where as Hulk was slightly nerfed.

However, my guess is Hulk will still require more then 1 Avenger when he is manipulated.

I agree ahura, I loved Thor and Incredible Hulk but Thor seems way more powerful than Hulk. But I guess we can't forget that there really is no limit to Hulk's strength, this is hinted at in TIH.

Movie Thor is shown to learn mercy and to not want to wipe a race of creatures off the face of the earth just because one of them annoys him. That softening of attitude is quite a big growth point for him, and it might be in the Avengers that he CAN defeat Hulk, but doesn't want to wipe him out completely. Containing Hulk would probably be more difficult than smiting him dead.

Can someone tell me if we'll see Bruce Banner in the Avengers movie? Or just the Hulk? I read somewhere that in some of the comics Thor doesn't want to obliterate Hulk because he likes Banner. That could be another reason for him to hold back if they include Banner.

Thor's a God, he should be the strongest... not Hulk.
