Why are people so skeptical of UFO's?

Oh I don't think they reverse engineered anything.

It doesn't take alien tech for humans to build something that can't fly properly.

Even from a hardcore skeptic's POV it makes sense. The US military was seeing flying saucers buzzing their most secure facilities. They knew someone was building them. Of course they would try to build their own. They didn't want there to be a "flying saucer gap".

Unfortunately they all failed miserably.

I actually don't know if the Soviets did ever attempt to design a flying saucer of their own. The Germans had some prototypes, but nothing that flew. Apparently as late as the fifties people in the military believed that the Soviets were behind the saucers (or perhaps that was code).

Lots of info regarding the Roswell incident.

“An extraordinary claim requires extraordinary proof.” — Marcello Truzzi :word:

So to that extent, a moronic claim needs little to no proof?

Cooking a hotdog in sunlight is far better than on the grill. :D Go do it!

Some cool UFO sightings of 2013 so far

anal probes are just what mainstream media play on. in movies/southpark/etc.

there are more accounts of under the skin micro transmitters

You need to laugh more. I guess I should have used an emoticon

@ Xavier.....

Double Lmao. I would think a forgotten probe would relieve the anal retention

@ Nick...

Wouldn't an implanted transmitter be pretty compelling physical evidence? Where are they?
Blood work and autopsies would be the way to understand our anatomy and physiology.

However that would all be moot if they were the ones that engineered us.

That because the alien didn't removed the probe :p

How dare you laugh and make jokes! This is about the survival of the human race! Don't come crying to this thread when you wake up one morning in a UFO flipped over with your butt flap down and 4 giant aliens standing around you!

If anything, Ill see you on youtube and just post it in here anyway :D

Oh no my friend. I will still have the last laugh after they cure my diverticulitis and remove my hemorrhoids.:woot:

So to that extent, a moronic claim needs little to no proof?

No. The proper “inverse” of an extraordinary claim would be a modest claim. (If the moronic claim also happens to be extraordinary, it too would require extraordinary proof. :cwink:) “I went to the store to buy a newspaper” is a modest claim. True, I could be lying. But you might accept my mere word as “proof” because the described action is so banal (people do buy newspapers, why would I lie about such a thing?). The discovery of a new species of salamander is more unusual. However, you might accept an article in National Geographic (with photos) as sufficient evidence for the finding (coupled with the knowledge that thousands of new species are discovered each year - and here’s but one example). Faster-than-light neutrinos would be astonishing news; such a verdict would overthrow physics - an extraordinary claim. So a higher-than-normal degree of skepticism would be very prudent (correctly so, as it turned out).

So couldn't you just take the hundreds of UFO sightings/videos/testimonies as your proof? Or shall we need an alien to land on your house and smack you upside the head. I feel like "proof" is somewhat subjective to the person who's recieving the information.

I for one take the Extra Terrestrial aircraft videos(not all but most), the Citizen Hearing at the White House this past week as my proof. So to me, that's my extraordinary circumstantial evidence. But, someone who is more skeptical, they may need what I joked about before, an alien to smack them upside the head one night while they are sleeping lol

I think the most strong evidence is the dozen testimonies from ex government officials, and astronauts all over the years. If someone does a research he can find them easily like that citizen hearing and many more. That alone is an indicator that there's got to be something going on, those people can't just talk just to get an attention or gain fortune & fame with such a serious and important background they have.

Most of those Government officials are also risking a lot coming out and talking about this sort of stuff. They wouldn't risk their careers or possible shame in their field just for publicity.

The skeptic would probably need to be awake as it would be more likely that they hit their face on a nightstand compared to the extraordinary alien pimp smack.

Exactly. By the way i really dig Dwight David Eisenhower, hearing his speeches in the Sirius movie. Seemed like a wise, honest man with good intentions for humanity exposing the wrongdoings of the government and such. I can compare him to J. F. Kennedy and Tomas Jefferson. Wish the rest of the presidents shared a bit wisdom from those men.

I agree but I would classify those people as the honest people who witnessed something unidentifiable. Perfectly legit but when I think UFO I want aliens not just something unidentified.

I guess for me it would take and identifiable flying object personally witnessed and with perhaps unidentifiable propulsion.

And how would you know if they were real or not from Area 51? :woot:
