Ahh he's the bloke that puts everything ancient man achieved down to extra terrestrial intervention. He's entertaining I'll give him that. Crazy, but entertaining none the less.
There see now your applying our way of life to a hypothetical, advanced extra-terrestrial civilisation. Implying they couldn't give a crap what's going on just so long as they get paid when they get back so as to put food on the table for their alien brood.
Well, one reason why aliens might select Earth out of the cosmic haystack is because weve been broadcasting evidence of our intelligence for the past hundred years or so (via radio waves). So radio would be useful to the ETs in that respect. And if theyre capable of listening to our quaint communication system, theyd also be capable of sending a hello. Again, much cheaper than a physical visit. As for radio waves? That is so like pissing in the wind, a massive waste of time IMO. SETI = waste of time.
UFO's, Bigfoot, Nessie... it's all crap. Grow up and live in the real world is what I say to believers.
I don't want to hear about "reliable witnesses" either. People always bring up someone's profession (cop, doctor, etc.) as if that somehow makes them incapable of lying or being mentally off.
Its not necessarily about commercial gain or crass exploitation. Even if the alien motive was a benign first contact, there would still be tremendous resource costs in doing this. And it might be supposed that all that effort would result in an actual first contact - not the highly questionable UFO phenomenon.

...
Now, I suppose we could just assume that these aliens have infinite technology and utterly inscrutable intentions. But essentially, that amounts to anything goes - that no rational objection is allowed to count against the UFO hypothesis. If that's the case, might as well just declare "case closed" and lock this thread.![]()

Not trolling. Don't see why you would say so.

You say live in the real world. I live in the real world mate. I've got kids, I pay my taxes I love my sport, meeting my pals in the pub at weekends. But cause I have a passing interest in this subject you label me as being some sort of crank? I don't know you but from that post your the one who needs to grow up. So just leave it there and save your crap for elsewhere.
Is not what you believe or dont that is the issue. Is how you worded your previous post. It's perfectly fine to disagree, but at least be respectful of other people's opinion and views.No. I'll go where I want. Don't need your permission.
I just now noticed this thread. That's why it's my first comment. It sucks that me having an opinion different from yours is a considered a "cheap shot" to stir up emotion. But I don't apologize for it. Wanting people to "go away" because they disagree with you isn't very mature.
All in all it's a sad state of affairs when saying you don't believe in UFOs is considered trolling.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand, i've always been curious about those Puma Punku stones since i read about them, NickNitro. It boggles the mind how a less advanced civilization (or so they teach us lol) was capable of making something like that, when even today it's difficult for us to make.
But you didnt say that did you? You told everyone that does believe in them it's all crap. Grow up and live in the real world is what I say to believers.. If that comment is your measuring stick for maturity than I feel sorry for you.
No I don't think you're a crank. I understand having a passing interest completely.
However I have no guilty feelings whatsoever in stating my opinion, which is what it is, that the whole phenomenon is much ado about nothing.
Just ignore him and he'll go troll elsewhere.
It really does. I was blown away when I saw them on Ancient Aliens a few years back. I never heard of them before. Really opened my eyes.
Whats even more amazing is when you hear of these 1,000lb + stones that are found in the middle of a civilization where that particular stone isn't even found. Its found hundreds, thousands of miles away on some shore line. How could primitive life possibly move those stones that far a distance to create such structures as monuments/homes/etc.
Fine. I'll concede that my first comment was harsh.
I'll rephrase it to say that I believe people should use the scientific method and base things like these on actual evidence. There hasn't been a single bit of definitive proof. So believing seems odd to me.
Better?
