The sad part is, I haven't seen anything posted here to make people want to change their minds. The ones who really hate Wolverine to turn their opinions around and maybe take another look at the character and give him a chance. All I see so far is defense trying to say that Wolverine is still better and more interesting than anyone else.
No one tries to point out the char's good sides or how much he cares about his teammates and is willing to risk his life to save someone else, instead it's almost always about his coolness factor and superiority.
I´m always posting his good sides, and I never defend Logan based on coolness factor or superiority. Altough I see nothing wrong in defending a character based on his coolness factor. It´s a character trait as good as any other.
Logan is a wonderful character because he´s flawed. Those flaws make him more human, more near us, and maybe that´s his greatest attraction.
I´ve noticed that many Cyke fans think he´s the perfect man. The perfect leader, the perfect husband to Jean, the perfect friend. Well, Logan is nowhere near perfect. He´s brave, he´s noble, he´s protective, but he has a dark side that scares even him. He´s fascinating because he´s contraditory, deep and simple at the same time.
If you say you don´t hate the character, I´d like to see more of this appreciation, not only the "munching bear" stuff. Yeah, I know all about that scene in Ultimate, but it was a particular situation. Now, talking as if Logan does it on a daily basis or that he lusts after Jean like a horny dog only makes him look like a mere animal. And that´s what the haters like to call him when comparing him to the "perfect man" Scott Summers.
Besides that passage doesn't prove anything. There's never been any doubt that Jean really likes Logan. What the book fails to do is explain the reasons for this liking. The fact that they can open up and relate to each other is not going to undermine a 15 year-long bond that goes beyond normal concepts of love and trust.
My arguments are as good as yours. There´s nothing in the movies that prove that Jean and Scott have had a stable relationship for 15 years. We know that they were a couple and that they learned together how to control their powers, but not that they were bonded for life.
And the fact that Jean and Logan opened up to each other says a lot. Especially regarding Wolverine, and that old argument that he was only lusting after her. Logan opening up to anyone means a hell lot.
I didn't see that post until after I said hello. Besides it's not like you've ever rallied behind me. All you've ever done is come down at me as soon as I say a word of criticism against Wolverine. You always take it personally and from your posts you make it look like your blood pressure shoots through the roof.
Well, since a "Wolverine conspiracy" exists, there´s a Cyclops one too...Cyke fans united in giving Logan fans collective heart attacks!

And like I said, I defend my favorite character. I´ve never seen you post anything good about Wolverine, altough you say you don´t hate him. I don´t take it personally, but if you or anyone else says anything about Logan that it´s worth a little debate, I´ll do it. I even tried to debate with Kurosawa, but with him it´s really impossible. At least he´s honest when he says he truly hates Wolverine, but it doesn´t make him a good poster, because he offends the fans just like this Hulkster person did.
You´re welcome to come down at me whenever I offend Cyke and/or his fans. But I really don´t see it happenening.
