Wolverine, how we loved thee...or did we ever?

I think he's got a bad ass style as for him being over used I can't say any thing about that cause I've never really read any wolverine books.

By the way, how the hell do I get my avatar?

Didn't Wolverine get stabbed to death by a knife ( or was it a sword? can't remember ) in "Enemy of the State", a comic written 5-6 years after your so called "explaination"? However a year or two later he can somehow regenerate from just a skeleton. Hmm, funny I forget where they explained that one. :whatever:

Yea but we really didnt see how Logan was killed. All we saw was the Gorgan raise his sword and then it cut away to another scene. The Gorgan could have turned him into stone.

Thats exactly what I think. In forums atleast, theres always some controversy about something Logan did.

The other day in this forum someone was complaining about the "back flip soccer kick" Wolverine did to Danger in Astonishing X-Men. The complainer said "how would Logan know how to do a back flip soccer kick? He shouldnt of been able to do that."

He shouldnt be able to do a back flip soccer kick when my little cousin can do it? This is the horse sh%# Im talkin about. Its everywhere you look. Thats why I assume people wont be satisfied untill hes a loser. Not becouse of what you said. Now you feel me?

Unfortunately, I think it's you who lacks the "feelings" of us.

We don't want Wolverine to be a "loser" as you put it. We want him to be Wolverine. You know, that guy, human + strength, durable, but not ungodly invincible. You know, interesting Wolverine? One that has to do things to survive?

Then why use the sword in the first place? Why not just turn him to stone to begin with? Also, how the hell would they have been able to brainwash and use him after he was made of stone?

Why not use the sword? Carve him up real good so then he has no choice but to look into his eyes. Wasnt Hydra able to do ridiculous things like kill people, resurect them, increase their powers, add new powers etc?

Then I've "felt you" since I first responded. You're taking it to one extreme by thinking that anyone who complains wants the character to be a failure. You lump us all together.

Ironically, you don't like being lumped in with the Wolverine zealots that think that Wolverine should be the God of the Marvel universe. But, that's ok, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I've learned to not be so mean so I won't immediately get accused of being a "hater" when I'm not.

Nah dude, your the one lumping yourself in with the haters. Youll be ok. :yay:

With him being on the new NA roster, can we expect to see him less in X-books? God, I hope so.

I'm not lumping in myself with the haters. What I meant to say is that you have to have a lot of tact in these threads otherwise the "fans" immediately label you as a hater. You feel me?

What a perfectly heated argument. :woot:

Almost everythingHorhey has been saying in last couple of pages I disagree with, while in comparison I agree a lot with Tropico and some of the others say. We aren't looking for "ugly, weakling, loser" man. We want an underdog to cheer on. Wolverine was 'ugly' by the way, and he still is really. But weakling, loser? Just because we want him downscaled (I'd be willing to bet we want a lot of heroes downscaled) doesn't mean we want to make a wimp of him. I remember a Wolverine who weilded a katana as proficiently as he weilded his claws. I remember when the Hulk was someone Wolverine was able to match without pure strength and an amazing HF, but an amazing fighting ability. This isn't him anymore. The character has devolved.

Wolverine's always been a mutant who's powers were never up to scratch with any other super humans, and yet he was one of the most respected X-men. He could infiltrate and take on soldiers without taking a bullet because his talents and abilities put him in the position to do so (agility, speed, reflexes, senses, minimal super strength). I've gone entire story arcs from the eighties where Wolverine's claws barely ever appear, yet he beats impossible odds.

Underdog does not equal weakling. Does not mean loser. But it doesn't mean god like either.

Also, for those of you pointing out Enemy of the State, he fought Gorgon to death, and had his guts ripped out, as well as his throat stabbed, and probably his fair share of lacerations over his entire body. he comments that they are already stitching themselves back together nearly immediately after he kills Gorgon.

I was refering to the "haters" wanting him to be a loser. You know the type people who say "Logan shouldnt be able to do a back flip soccer kick?"

For some reason some of you are acting like you dont know what Im talking about. My comments werent directed at Logan-fans or ex-fans who are disillusioned with the HF issue becouse I have my own complaints.

They were directed at the people who cry when Logan doesnt get pwned by every character, no matter how weak. The people that will say anything no matter how untrue or unsuported with evidence. I guess when I saw the words and statements "weak", "underdog", "ugly man" "always schooled by Cyclops" I automatically assumed I was talking to the haters. Get it?

Thats becouse everywhere you look a hater is crying about Logan. You know this.

I'd like Iron Man to be a little downscaled, actually. I mean, I like him, and I like how he's evolving (as it should be natural to him, really), but it's a little too much, too soon.
