RIP Ghostbusters Franchise....

I will make a tombstone and put it next to Terminator, Predator, Spider-Man, Robocop franchise tombstones.

I get the feeling that thread is going to be as bad as the FF boards.

Can the Ghostbusters thread's sexism match FF boards' racism? Find out next time on Dragonball Z!

So, basically, f*** the Australians is what he's saying. :o

At first, I was wondering what was so funny about the conversation. Then I saw the username of the second poster and realized who it was:

TheFantasticFour Reborn Thread
(ComicCon discussion)

Fox please plant people who will cheer so loudly for the cast incase they get booed.

This is Sig worthy.

What's funny about what psylock said is that I wouldn't put it past Fox to plant people in the audience to cheer.

I wouldn't put it past any studio

Well its a pretty good idea to plant people to cover-up the "booing". If the director of Ant-Man got booed... I think the cast and the director have a pretty good chance of getting that kind of reaction. So if I'm the PR... I will be expecting the worse that could happen and I would plant people there to cheer to cover-up the booing so the booing wouldn't draw much attention to the cast and the press. And its Comic-Con, I'm sure they could pick-up 2 dozen of people to do that inside the convention. Its basically damage control... I don't know whats so funny and sig worthy about it.

less negativity to the film especially its coming out in 4 weeks is better than let everybody know that the Fantastic 4 panel got the biggest boos in SDCC 2015.

You really don't know what's funny about it?:funny: Re-read your posts man.

If people want to boo, they have any given right to do so.

Yes. If you're in favour of dishonest tactics to silence the public then it really says how far you'll go to defend this movie. I respect people's right to like this movie, rgardless whether it's good or bad, but I don't respect calling for them to lie for the sake of publicity.

Yeah and I'm not even suggesting that booing at the panel should be illegal... what I'm suggesting is FOx to plant people to cheer... incase the booing is so loud that its ruins the panel and then it gets reported by the media which is just another bad PR for the film. Anyway, they should control the situation.

SO you want them to lie, just for the sake of making a movie seem more liked? A movie you have no stake in.

They are there to promote the film not to get booed or get criticized.... anyway its their loss if it leads to bad pr.

I'm not asking for a shouting contest... its just something that they have to consider... if the fake "cheers" quiets down the boos... then good. The atmosphere at the panel would probably be much better with that and no one at the panel would have to think "oh dear we got booed why did we go here?".

No, just no. If people don't like it, they don't like it and thats that.

So if I ask you, to promote your product and then have people boo at your face because they don't like what you are selling... what would you do? just let them boo at you because its their right to say things they don't like... obviously you'd do something or else that would shy away potential buyers... same thing here.

Bad reaction at comic-con = bad pr = potential loss of money.

You make art then you open yourself up to get criticized. Come on now.

Laugh it off. Make a joke. Roll with the punches. You play sports other teams fans boo at you. You show them up by not letting them get into your head. ANd at the end of the day if the product is good, and you have faith in it then the boos mean nothing. If you let boos get in your head, to me that means theyre insecure about something. Maybe they don't think the movie is that good or theyre not confident in it

ANyway Im not saying it's a bad strategy. Im just saying it's weird to me that you care so much that you want to studio to hire plants.
That goes beyond liking or looking forward to a movie

Should the studio buy off reviewers too?

Yes. It is. You can't simply silence an audience because they don't like what you have to say. You may as well ask for an embargo on negative reviews only because they're bad PR. I don't know how else to explain it to you. It seems a clear enough principle to most people. If you lie or actively mislead people then that is generally considered the wrong thing to do.

I just have a feeling that booing would ruin the experience at comic-con specifically for the cast... and booing is just rude... why even go there to boo... especially when you haven't even seen the final product?

And no, studio shouldn't buy off the critics/reviewers... but in the PR world... they intend to twist words when it comes to critics review just to sell a ticket. Not that I want that to happen when the reviews for this film finally come out.

There's a big difference from buying off reviewers and buying people to cheer at comic-con. Reviewers/critics would have at least seen the film (when they publish their review even if its not a genuine review).... which cannot be said to people at Comic-Con that would just cheer to quiet down the boos (who also haven't seen the film).

I can't believe this is something that is actually being debated. It's hilarious

There is not much of a difference. Both times you are buying someone's opinion. Doesn't matter if it was written (critics) or just audibly said (potential boo'ers at Comic Con) .

At this point, I have to pull a:

At first this convo was so out there that it was hilarious like Flint Marko said. But it's gone into sad territory for me.

If you really don't get why people were kinda side-eying you for wanting a studio to buy positive reception/good buzz then...I don't even know

tumblr_mbjiwfl3Va1rf9pngo1_500.gif

Say what you want Blackman... but I don't see a big deal with planting people to cheer for the film to quiet down the boos from the people who haven't seen the film yet.... anyway, if it was up to me. I would not let any booing to happen from the people who haven't seen the film yet to just ruin the promotion. You could boo once you see the film, but until that happens, nope.

It honestly never occured to you that fake reviews could be posted by people who haven't seen the movie? lol

The point is that both are equally dishonest attempts to create false positive PR and silence honest negative opinions. That's why people find it crazy you would literally call for Fox to do just that. As has been pointed out there are already safeguards in place to keep the crowd under control. There's no need to stoop to that level.

I think we should just agree to disagree.

Fanboys being weird. :p
Handbags down, ladies. Let's just all MARVEL at the sight of the beautiful Marisa Tomei...whom looks nothing like Aunt May, and whom I will never accept as the character...unless she dyes her hair grey or white...yeah.

Personally I would like her not to be grey. With Tom being so young I don't think the eternally decrepit version of Aunt May really fits.

It fitted back in the early 60's! :o

I wasn't born for another 20 years. :oldrazz:

You missed the true definition of Aunt, Sean Connery in his first solo Bond cinematic outing, The Beatles, and the introduction of the drugs craze :p

Oh, they'll totally do that, there's no version of Aunt May with Black hair.

Aunt May doesn't need white or grey hair. If at 50, Marisa still looks youthful, and if many other women at that age still look youthful, then it's quite plausible that a modern Aunt May would be in good health and shape. She really doesn't need to look decrepit.

Does RDJ, who is the same age, need to add white or grey streaks to his hair? She can just be a contemporary of Stark.

Maybe he dated her in high school. :oldrazz:

Then she's not Aunt May. Simple as that :)

It's so frigging annoying because it has to be an act just to piss people off. It's not funny, it actually has passed the point of being infuriating... It's just sad. It's sad there are people with lives so empty that they devote all this time to going to a forum and knowingly act like an idiot.

roger-oh-what-fresh-hell-o.gif

Oh what fresh hell is this?

I don't think what psylock said in the FF thread is an act, like his stupid "take everything literally" schtick.

Strong opinion.
The new Fantastic Four, FFINO cast. The Tim Story versions, even if people (like me) didn't like those movies, at least some or all of the main four/five with Doom were likeable.

In these, everyone in the cast is miscast, unlikable, smug, pretentious, and *****ey. There are absolutely NO redeeming qualities on any of them.

And that's just by seeing them in trailers, I can just imagine how worse they are on a 2 hour movie.

Psylockolussus should call the maintenance department because he has some screws loose.

Yes the FF forum is a hell of idiocy right now

Right now? So many people spend their whole day talking trash about that movie every day, it's pretty pathetic.

Be careful. Mocking the x-boards golden boy can cause infractions if the wrong mod sees it.
