WW Composer Thread

Johann Johansson who did the score for Prisoners and The Theory of Everything would be pretty good.

Finally another one to recommend JJ. It's good that comic book people are starting to notice his scores.

It also someone different and not the same people who keep cropping up.

His score for Sicario is pretty awesome as well.

Zimmer might not score the movie, but he did say in an interview that he's working on the theme. John Williams and Howard Shore are the only ones I think have that heroic-adventure sound to their work. James Newton Howard is also a good choice since his sound is very fairy-tale and exotic like and would fit well for Themyscira. As much as I love Danny Elfman, his recent scores are a bit disappointing. The last one I truly enjoyed was The Wolfman.

@Angel Of Death

Well most of Elfman's recent scores are more low key, subdued, and ambient due to them being written for small indie flicks (Restless, Hitchcock, Silver Linings Playbook, Promised Land, Big Eyes, Fifty Shades Of Grey, The End Of The Tour, etc.). His scores to mainstream films as Real Steel, Epic, his portion of A:AOU (which was superior to Tyler's material and even elevated that score from being mediocre, imo) were strong efforts that weren't very typical of him, imo. And his latest score Goosebumps has been getting a positive response from fans as well.

Djawadi (even though I've been more impressed by his TV work than film, if he can bring a feeling of GOT to this, that's a plus) or Desplat.

I love Zimmer, but I don't see him taking part in this.

Patrick Doyle would be my pick.

I think the fact the movie will be set in WWI could change some perspectives and can impact on their choice...

Say it with me class:

HANS ZIMMER

Ya'll know it's gonna be him. :o

Christopher Drake easily.

The Man, The Myth, The Legend.

So, same costume designer and Music Composer as in Clash of the Titans movie ? :oldrazz:

Wrath of the Titans was an underrated masterpiece.

:o

Would love to see Bear McCreary or Clint Mansell on this. Excellent suggestions.

I'm kinda playing with the idea of Angelo Badalamenti as composer. He can be very creative and atmospheric with his music, though I'm not sure he'd fit.

Oh, agree with the new guy why don't ya.. :cmad:

Seriously, I've been proposing Mansell for a very long time, but does anyone give props to KillerWolf? Oh, no, screw the old dog. Toss him to the pound.

:o

Yaaaaaaaaaaaas. Probably won't happen, but still. :o

I'm more or less counting Bear McCreary out as well. He's mostly a TV guy and, at the moment, he's got to have somewhere between six to a dozen shows he works on. Where the hell is he gonna find the time?

Yeah, it is quite unlikely. I was actually watching "Mullholand Drive" recently and music in that opening sequence with Laura Harring's character driving in the limo... the hnnnngh of all hnnnnghs. It sets the atmosphere momentarily.

As for McCreary, didn't he work on music for "DaVinci's Demons"? Probably the only thing that's good with that show. :hehe:

Ban this PBU. :o
