A billion is more likely for XMA than BvS. It could get close or just push over at the last attempt. All depends.
That is not a fact. Allow me to provide an ACTUAL fact, though. Tim Burton's Batman sold more tickets than The Dark Knight Rises (or Begins, obviously, which wasn't a tremendous earner). If you adjust for modern ticket prices Batman made over half a billion in today's money in America alone.
Just as you think BVS and are adamant about it others feel the same about Apocalypse and who know how it will play out or how much each will do. I'm sure both movies though will do quite well so let's just be happy about that.
Inflation doesn't count. It's an estimate. Not an actual figure. So it's not an actual fact.
Lots of old movies moved more tickets than modern blockbusters. If the box office records went by tickets instead of constantly increasing ticket prices the records wouldn't be broken every year or two.
Or implying that Batman is the only DC character that can have a successful movie, which is flat out ridiculous.
A billion is more likely for XMA than BvS.
Can't tell if serious or joking ...
For XMA, it doesn't have to hit a billion & can still be a phenomenal success. For BvS, anything less is really going to be underwhelming. I'd honestly be shocked if it didn't reach that number.
Why would you say that? BvS is tracking huge.A billion is more likely for XMA than BvS. It could get close or just push over at the last attempt. All depends.
Clearly you missed the post where I said that & also added that any real comic book fan would be excited at the prospect of 4 comic book films possibly hitting one billion.
But then a not so wise "analyst" declared BvS wouldn't hit $1 billion while XMA will. And if you seriously believe that, you're not paying attention at all. This isn't something that's subject to opinion, BvS is quite clearly going to hit that number and then some.
Let's look at the facts: Batman, Superman & Wonder Woman are more recognizable than anybody in the X-Men universe, especially the former as he's more popular than any X-Men character you can name. Add that to the fact that Batman's last TWO movies grossed a billion dollars (a feat no X-Men movie has ever achieved). On top of all that, you have a movie with Doomsday as one of its villains in addition to the appearance of the rest of the Justice League, effectively making this more so Justice League 1.5 than just merely a BvS film. The name Justice League holds far more water than X-Men. Go randomly ask people on the street about JL & then about X-Men, I guarantee you JL holds more stock.
So again, tell me why people think XMA is an absolute lock for a billion when said series hasn't ever hit that number while Batman has twice rather recently & is one of the headliners of BvS (if you couldn't tell by the title).
I'm not suddenly ragging on XMA because I WANT it to hit a billion worldwide. But the simple fact is that it is not going to outgross BvS in any way, shape or form. And you're crazy if you're thinking otherwise.
Logistically, if you can break it down & explain how X-Men can gross more than a movie that features Batman, Superman & Wonder Woman as well as having Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman, etc. then I will admit defeat. But you can't because it's not going to happen.
No one who's saying these things can explain their reasoning beyond them liking X-Men more. And that's fine, but just because they're you're favorite characters it doesn't suddenly make them more popular or marketable than juggernauts like Batman.
I am amazed at the things that I read right here, right now.
Probably just because it's the next big superhero movie out.So, why did this thread turn into a BvS box office discussion anyway?
We're did I say BvS wouldn't hit a billion never so don't take your frustration out on me from someone else, when I know how that person can be delusional, because I wasn't even saying that I'm saying it's likely that both movies can do really well. So please don't come for me I do think that BvS will do well especially with Wonder Woman I'm so excited to finally see her on the big screen and Aquaman so no I'm not denying that the movie won't do good I'm actually agreeing. It would be awesome if both movies make a billion. BvS have the trinity forming and the Justice League so that will whet appetites and with Apocalypse appearing in this movie one of their biggest villians ever it will be a great movie with a lot of destruction.
So, why did this thread turn into a BvS box office discussion anyway?
You're cool, only the first portion of the post was at you. The rest of it was directed at the childish DC haters who haven't been paying attention to the tracking & other factors. Like I said, you're cool, I just wanted to clarify to you that I wasn't suddenly ragging on XMA & I do think it will be a huge success. Don't worry, I know you're not in the delusional crowd.t:
Because I stated how awesome it is that four comic book films (one being XMA) could reach a billion in one year & a five year old came in here saying only Batman directed by Nolan can reach $1 billion.
Trolls, basically.
Oh dear. When BvS (and Suicide Squad) hits the billion mark there's a reality check in order for someone.
The X-forums are going full on cray cray with no news and nothing to talk about. Singer please, give us something. I'd be happy with anything, even if it was just another pic of Mystique's terrible paintjob/suit combo.
