DC hasn't proved that they can hit $1 billion for a movie without Batman.

By the same token, Fox has never come close to $1bn with X-Men.

Nolan is not the end all be all for DCEU films grossing over $1 billion

What other DC films have hit $1bn?
Agreed. You're kidding yourself if you think general audiences are so dumb that they couldn't realize that Deadpool is clearly a part of the X-Men universe. I mean, he made an abundance of jokes referencing that fact...they (the audiences) get it. And it'll definitely serve as a help to XMA when its all said and done, especially if its a great film that stands on its own.

Deadpool isn't in XMA, his "good will" means nothing here. XMA is moving on the momentum of X-Men movies, DOFP being the latest in the audiences memory.

I doubt Deadpool is going to have any significant impact on Apocalypse.

A fact I've already acknowledged.

In case you've been under a rock, only one DC film has been released since TDKR. Just one movie. So that notion is entirely absurd when we've yet to see how any of the other characters will perform in a theatrical outing.

Therefore its foolish to state that only a Nolan directed Batman outing can be a billion dollar movie is absurd when we're ONE damn film into the DCEU.

What part of this are you not getting?

Eh, I beg to differ but I really don't care at this point.

If Deadpool doesn't build any goodwill for X-men movies, then Pixar and MCU movies don't build goodwill for each other.

While it is debatable about whether or not it will have a noticeable difference for Apocalypse, with how much the X-men was referenced in the movie, it is sort of difficult to argue that people wouldn't think it is an X-men movie.

Hmmm X-Men is still bigger than Deadpool but I don't think X-Men (given its competition this May/June) can outgross Deadpool. I just hope Fox is happy with the box-office gross it will get this summer.

X-men Apocalypse will be the highest grossing X-men film. I can feel it. Same with Captain America: CiVil War. As for BvS, not certain but Suicide Squad definitely will not reach 1 billion.

I feel Apocalypse will do very well also no worries on it not doing well.

I believe in this movie. Singer has been learning his mistake from the past x-men movies. lol :)

Uhh, I didn't quote you there, but OK....

You claimed Nolan isn't the be all end of of billion dollar DC film, my point is that actually, to date, yes he is, as no other DC films have come close to that benchmark.

Eh, I beg to differ but I really don't care at this point.

Obviously you do care or you wouldn't have replied at all.

Fox's brand awareness with the X-Men movies isn't anywhere near as strong as that of Marvel or Pixar. Regardless of the X-Men related jokes, the only way Deadpool has any real impact on XMA's Box Office return is if he's in the movie, and he isn't, so......

Infact, it looks to me like Deapdpool will outgross XMA domestically, maybe close WW.

Looks like 58 million budget movie will earn more than 250 million budget movie.
Singer spend money on boom here and there (destroy), give us Lawrence + Hoult, instead of Mystique and Beast, also shorty Apocalypse without deep voice.
Deadpool is laughing from boom here an there movies in 'Wade Wilson's War' comic.
We should have comic looking characters instead of this.

So we will have two different looking Apocalypse? Apocalypse from posters and Apocalypse from movie? 250 million budget, and can't they make look him like at poster, with more grayish, more natural skin, not like painted blue wall.
Only 2 months.

To be fair, Apocalypse is often drawn as blue in the comics, and other times gray, and other times purple and green (check out the cartoon). I actually would prefer gray skin just because there are already so many blue mutants, but to complain about that and his height or voice seems asinine.

Oscar Isaac is one of the best young actors in Hollywood. He is a powerhouse performer and whining that he does not sound like a Saturday morning cartoon villain is missing the forest for the trees.

Don't know what cartoon did you watch, but he never was green skin.

We read he was born as child with gray skin and blue lips, that's how he also looks at poster for movie, and I prefer to see it.

The look of apocalypse likely isn't down to budget though, its really down to what bryan singer wants.

He very much had an olive tone to his skin in the Animated Series.

He is also grey in the movie. It is just the lighting at times can emphasize the blue-grey tone they are using for his skin.

That looks fairly green to me. It's a grayish green, but it is certainly different than what you demand from the film. It also has a lot more purple than what is in the movie too.

It would have been cooler if Rogue is in the movie. :(

The color of Isaac's makeup seems to vary depending on the lighting of the scene. Remember when people thought he was PURPLE? Yeah, I'd rather forget that too.

Because there is only one shade of green.:whatever: That colour isn't grey.

Sometimes these boards...

Agree different shades of green are at Rogue's costume.

Apocalypse's face is two shades of gray.

Point is it is different from this:

Supposedly, this is what you want and what you are complaining about the movie not giving you in May.

Based on my experience it's start to have a small effect.Last Sunday i went to see Creed and afterwards i heard two guys talking about X-Men after leaving Deadpool (both movies finished around the same time).:yay:

Never in a million years would i have thought that Deadpool would do so well.In my country it's now the highest grossing X-Men related movie with $4,437,789 in revenue! DOFP is second ($3,522,349) and X-Men Origins:Wolverine third ($2,616,177).

X-Men Origins numbers are pretty impressive because that movie didn't get a 3D or IMAX release. And back in '09 there were less multiplexes than there are now.

Then wait for the actual movie and see, instead of complaining about still or things that aren't important. We don't know how it's going to fully look onscreen yet and I'm certain it will still be amazing.
