But I can say with complete scientific confidence that that fandango poll was a complete crock of s***. It was just JLaw PR. It should never be referenced again to make any point or argument.

Anywho, I was exagerating when I said she brings nothing to the franchise. She does bring a lot of media attention since many outlets want to interview her.

but that only will tell us if people are going to the films because of the cast, or because of the charcters. if it's the characters, it will do the same. if it's the cast... then it should differ since the OT cast isn't returning..

I don't follow. Apocalypse has Jean, Scott, Nightcrawler, Angel, Psylocke, Jubes, Apocalypse among others. Ideally people who went to see DOFP shouldn't have known about Jean and Scott.

There's some overlap but there's plenty of characters here that weren't in DOFP and vice-versa.

They didn't make her a good girl character in FC for nothing and if they were not gonna explore it further they could have introduced mystique in a different way to FC that wouldn't have had her be a sister figure to charles



Yes but there is believeable progression or change and there is as you say shoe horned change and completely changing a characters personality to the total opposite is shoe horning

Plus Magneto and charles wasn't a big change since magneto and charles were not different people when they met to when they fell out

They will likely recast, although that doesn't mean the character will change but yeah i imagine they won't throw the character aside just because of lawrence



Its X-Men and if it makes less then thats the franchise in trouble, its got nothing to do with lawrence box office



Tbh she seemed fine to me, she showed all the emotion needed for the character from her looking at the experimented mutant photos horrified to the ending in the stadium looking pissed

I do think people are hard on lawrence and ignore the important stuff she actually did well

I don't hate Lawrence, i just don't think she was the best suited for the role, her sex appeal is not of that of catwomans (the villain version of her)... (more like how romaijn played mystique... femme fatale. But was written and portrayed more like trying to watch jubilee deal with wrestling demons. just didn't suit the character

FC had a mediocre box office... DOFP brought in the OT actors.. and did pretty well... APOC will remove the OT Actors, replace them with relatively unknowns, in very known character roles.

if it does as well or better than DOFP it's safe to imply or theorize that the OT cast is not what necissarily sold DOFP, and the the FC cast.. who is going to be the ones anchoring the next gen cast.... carried the film to get people to see it. Meaning, the fanbase has grown to like the FC cast.

Though it's not as simple as that. A film's success can't all be attributed to one single thing (my mistake in my original post). A film succeeds when all these good things come together to form an excellent movie. So it shouldn't simply be "fans liking the FC cast now."

Skyfall is the perfect example of all these good things coming together when previous movies in the franchise didn't reach those heights (box office, critical and audience acclaim).

I'm calling it early that this film won't beat DOFP at the box-office. Old faces are a big draw, and it's a busy year next year.

How I see it if apocalypse makes less then DOFP then this franchise really is in trouble because this film is gonna have the biggest villain yet and is mean't to be the biggest x-men movie yet aswell as the return of fan favourites and previous movie stand out characters like nightcrawler and quicksilver

If a large audience isn't drawn in by that because Patrick,Ian and Hugh ain't involved then it's all mostly nostalgia to the actors and alot of people really ain't into X-Men and the characters

I think it'll do well. This cast has done well twice now so it has a solid base of spectators

It also has a tween cast + JLaw (whom I don't mind at all; I know a few people that like her in that role and are casual moviegoers)

And then there are the characters that fans have wanted to see for some time now (Apocalypse, Psylocke, Archangel, etc.) and the promise for some mass destruction and awesome action.

As for BOX OFFICE: I think it'll also depend on how much they sale the "epic" aspect of this movie -- the setpieces, the power displays, the villain. That's my problem with making the X-Men trailers character pieces, they don't draw audiences in as much as say, the Hulkbuster vs. Hulk fight that was in all the AOU trailers. They need to sell this as the event movie it is.

well I say it's for the best that Singer and not Kinberg does main spokesman
for film to press.

I say X-men and Avengers are 2 different beasts.

I have been critized for saying it but i feel X-men will never do avengers
business.X-Men is totally different tone.Apocalypse is going to cause massive destrucon but is totally different villain than you will ever see In Avengers film.

the GA main knowledge of X-men comes from trilogy and if they are old enough the X-Men 90's animated show.Psylocke barely appeared.Archangel wasn't really a X-men on that show.so except for comics fans i don't those
2 really mean that much.

even among those who are fans of the good X-men films trying to push human looking mystique as main X-Man Isn't going to go well.I just pray they don't have more of god awful mystique/beast relationship.the part i hated on rogue cut of DOFP was adding the scene at mansion between them.
I am so over lawrence mystique.I hope other characters make up for
the cringe worthy things they are doing to sastify Lawrence and to try to push her as face of film to GA.

Hopefully with trailer rated it's going to debut online soon.and let's all pray we haven't waited so long just for a edited version of Comic Con trailer.
