This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]509217[/split]
Since the X-Men movies take place in the past there's nothing to worry about. Just look at Deadpool as canon.
Reynolds main point is that they didn't write the script around DOFP. It was written prior. Already disregarding Origins as nothing but a bad joke.
Well Deadpool's position is weird right now. I think Singer and Kinberg place Deadpool in the new timeline post-DOFP, but Ryan Reynolds says different and would prefer if Deadpool is free from all those timeline continuities and is its own little island in terms of canon.
cannonballllllll!anyone certain what negasonic powers were?
At most I see Deadpool only appearing in X-Men films as far as a small cameo in Wolverine 3. Because interaction between an actual Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine is too good to pass up before Hugh hangs up the role.
True. good way to look at it. To be fair, Origins was never really canon. Origins had both Logan and Victor serving in the Vietnam War and are under military arrest since until meeting Stryker. DOFP has Logan working for mobsters, alone, and was discharged or wasn't even enlisted in the military by the end of Vietnam.
I'm not too sure about when the Vietnam scenes in Origins take place, there's been no indication in Origins that he did mob work when on leave from duty. I found out it odd how Origins implied that Logan had to play babysitter for Victor over the years, yet when we're introduced to him in DOFP, he's very isolated. I don't even think he has his dog tags. Although I will agree on everything pre-Vietnam being canon.Origins is semi-canon because the movie started with Wolverine as a child in 1845. Every event from that year to 1973 still exists in the timeline and plus, Wolverine still served in the Vietnam war since it started in 1955 but he went on leave from duty to do work for the mob like what we see in DOFP. Speaking of the whole "Vietnam" issue, since Stryker didn't recognize Wolverine in DOFP when they were in Paris, the Vietnam war scene in Origins was most likely in 1975 but as you pointed out, that scene no longer exists now that DOFP erased that scene along with the rest of the film.
I just saw Deadpool and it was really great. I really enjoyed both Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead. It really makes me look forward to another XMovie. Anyone certain what Negasonic powers were?

He does when it comes to Deadpool, and pretty soon X-Force. Dude flat out said that's his priority. And Fox would be foolish to tell him otherwise or deny him characters if these impressive numbers hold up.
Luckily Reynolds is smart enough to not shove Deadpool in roles he doesn't belong. It's Fox who are gonna want to do that now that they know for a fact he makes them cash day one.
You don't even know who is Cannonbal then.cannonballllllll!
He already has final say on Deadpool. He chose the creative team, wrote the script with them, serves as producer and handled most the marketing as well. Fox steers him the wrong way with the character again, and he's gone. Given that this was the highest rated and potentially highest grossing first Marvel installment Fox has had (regardless of being R) the smart money is on them not doing that.I'd give him final say on Deadpool. He's earned that. But X-Force too? No way. They need to set that up right and keep all avenues open with that.Kinberg, someone involved in each X-Men series/spinoff, needs to make those calls. They have to start making a legitimate connective universe. Not a half ass one.
