To some extent, it seems like you’d thought of Iceman in those terms as well.
Well, I think it is interesting that in the early movies he develops a relationship with a girl who he is physically unable to touch. There’s something subtextual in that. I’m not sure if I necessarily intended it at the time, but there is something ironic about it in the first and second film—I’m referring to his relationship with Rogue, played by Anna Paquin. And in the third one, which I didn’t direct, Iceman develops a relationship with Kitty Pryde, which I did address in Days of Future Past, and which is even more coincidental because Ellen Page recently came out as gay. So it puts an even more humorous spin on the whole thing.

I always felt Ashmore's Iceman was gay (until DOFP). No offense.

Also, WOW. they turned him gay in the comics? Singer's had quite an impact in the genre!

Basically 90% of the X-Men characters were created before the 90's and we all know there were a lot of restrictions back then. Things are slowly changing now. They started with female characters. First Mystique, then Psylocke having a quick affair, and I thought would be a matter of time until a relevant male character comes out as gay/bisexual.

I thought it'd be Gambit tho.

Could be a great way of not having him and Rogue together and it makes way for Rogue and Gambit. Fan dream right?

Also wanted to get people's opinions on something. Like what the opening could be. X2 and DoFP had the best opening sequences in comic book movies if you ask me. Bryan always starts off with a bang. Nightcrawler in X2 and the mutant group bunker scene in DoFP. What could we see be an awesome opening for Apocalypse?

Throwback to Prof. X monologue at the beginning of X1, except in James McAvoy's voice. "Mutation: it is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet."
Fade into post-credit scene of DOFP, young En Sabbah Nur has created the pyramids. He looks to the Horsemen overlooking, and they attack the scene. They unleash their powers, they're a more throwback to the original Horsemen from the comics, leaving people devastated from famine, plague, and strikes from War. Death then destroys many of said group. Very few people survived this attack."This process is slow, and normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward." Zoom in one of the survivors, past their cells, into their genes, we see one particularly form: the X-Gene. Apocalypse has just unleashed the X-Gene onto the main human population that will lead to Mutantkind. (Cue title credits)

If the basic structure of the script remains unchanged, we already have a pretty good idea of what it will be.
