But my half serious reply was referring to you saying something about quality in your eyes excusing massive changes with revisionist history that has nothing to do with the conversation. You always come down to in your arguments "well Marvel is better nana nana boo boo!" Which isn't an argument but an excuse for them to never improve upon there direction at least for the sake of favorite my comic book characters ever.

So you think Ratner/Penn/Kinberg’s X-men The Last Stand is an improvement over The Dark Phoenix and The Cure storylines from the comics?

You think Trank/Kinberg’s Fant4stic is an improvement of their origins and Doctor Doom’s first appearance from the comics?

And it’s funny using the word “excuse” here. How many excuses have we heard from Kinberg and his fans why his adaptations are almost always subpar?

Do you always deflect every time someone is having a conversation with you? Instead of talking about what we're discussing you constantly try this "nothing to see over here" shiny ball defense mechanism that makes you not have to speak on the matter at hand.

So I will not engage in it as it isn't worth the energy.

So Kinberg’s filmography is not fair game to be talked about in the “X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread.”

Where was your (fake) outrage when GuestStar2004’s mention (ie. deflection, which I didn’t hear a peep from you) of Thor Ragnarok?

Because Universal handled Hulk, Luke Cage and Namor so well. It's also the company that gave us the recent Dark Universe which appears to be dead at this moment. Between Disney and Universal, Disney has the upper hand in handling franchises, and of course it would finally give us the opportunity to see them interact with other Marvel characters.

Exactly! Universal has no proven experience or skill with comic book adaptations. We'd be back to square one.

Universal's 2003 Hulk movie is the equivalent of a FoX-Men film. Good director (like Singer), interesting movie borrowing some comic book elements but misguided and dated. Sound familiar?

The MCU's track record makes Disney a far better bet.

Fox's take on the X-Men is now utterly bizarre and out of touch with fans and mainstream audiences, and they can't even stay true to their own movies let alone the comics.

preach.
no need to add anything to that. Perfectly said. They just dont give a damm about the source material and the actual x-men, used and done one after another, as if they were kleenex

Hulk not having solo movie has NOTHING to do with Universal and everything to do with Marvel Disney. If you don't know the exact limitations of that deal don't speak on it until you educate yourself.

Umm Hulk 2003? They could clearly have at least made a trilogy but failed with the first film. X-Men going to Comcast could just lead to animosity between two studios and that won't be good to the X-Men, as Marvel could likely shut us off again with no merchandise, poor comics, and as if X-Men weren't part of the Marvel family. It is really not worth it for the X-Men to go to Universal instead of you know the company who actually can give us X-Men cartoons, videogames, toys, comics.

Really?Xmenfilms confirmed too

Marvel comics make bad X-men comics on purpose? LOL whats wrong with them. I only read Cable, X-men Red, and Rogue & Gambit TBH.

Hulk 2003 had great direction, great acting and a great score. Unfortunately, it had a screenplay that had been development since the 90s and never got a page 0 rewrite so Ang Lee literally had to work with the ****tiest possible screenplay. It was like if Kinberg wrote it!

I did not see that. My point is this isn't a one time thing with you it is your every rebuttal. And funny how you just proved my point by passing the buck off and thus deflecting yet again! Ironic right?

Fox's tone is perfect.
Balanced in drama with characters who seem human and not muppets driven by plots like in MCU (e.g. Infinity War was a good entertaining show ruinend by depict all characters, starting with Thanos, like idiots)
MCU characters may be, um, "muppets", but at least they're muppets that millions of people love.

Ang Lee agreed to direct that script. So he obviously believed in it enough.

If you think that was a deflection then you did not get anything i said at all.

your version of me deflecting is thinking i am mentioning another movie to reflect from the complaints about DP or Kinberg... when really you just completely ignored the whole point of my argument and how it plays into how these sort of movies work in general.

I confesse i always loved the x men franchise more than the others, because of the emotion that carried through the saga..

I love Marvel and Dc movies and go see them at the theatres, pure spectacle and mostly well done movies, but this saga was always in my heart! love the characters and the balance!

It has action, emotion, powers, grounded emotions, and a bit of comedy..well balanced!

The only thing it misses is a bit of comic bookish impact to get along with the others, that nowadays requires, and stay true visually with what we know..now you can!

I really hope we are all wrong and Dark Phoenix will make such an impact! Be intense, Big, unique. Dont fall to the Marvel formula, but being something that most of those movies dont have..the same amount of substance and emotion as action and powers!

And we really need to see something to get our faith back to this...

They need that!!

I agree for better or worse at least it would give us something definitive to talk about.

One film really? Marvel have yet to make a sequel to The Incredible Hulk and they never will because (in your own words) they could have AT LEAST made a trilogy. Your "logic" is flawed to say the least.

So you inserted yourself in a conversation you were not well-versed in (by acting like a child, calling me a Sarah Huckabee Sanders wannabe) simply because the other person is someone you agree with most times in the past.

This is also the second time I’ve brought up that it was GuestStar who mentioned Thor Ragnarok. So really, there’s no excuse for your accusation of me deflecting when GuestStar’s initial post should’ve drawn your ire in the first place. But then again, you both agree on most so why criticize him when you can criticize me right?

So Alexandra Shipp just bleached her eyebrows? When are reshoots supposed to start?

Stop just...stop. First off as I said earlier I was joking about a behavior I see quite often and already apologized if it offended your feelings which it seems to have because you are so pressed by it. Second you're doing it again only now playing the victim and saying "why don't you call everyone out" when this isn't a consistent behavior from them. Look I'm not trying to argue with you about trivial matters. I made a joke in poor taste and I owned up to that can you say the same about yourself without deflecting?

Some say late summer/early fall and other sources say november - december. No idea which is true though.

Perfect
I also love this franchise, it's a franchise that manages to be realistic even though it's about super heroes, I can not find it in other franchises, I get sad when I see "fans" twisting directly or indirectly that DP is a failure, I can not understand that.
I hope the film is a good movie and that it ends well the story of the mutants in fox.:ilv:

About reshoots
apparently sophie is already free to work
her work on GOT ended 2 weeks ago.

Fox characters are very realistic. You only see them from the outside and rarely get to know about them. Just like real life.
