People in here were also saying no way was X-Men going back to Marvel any time soon.

The actual claim was "never going to happen" followed by "deal with it".

People fail to realize that the sizzle reel can all be good but the end product may still be a turd. I Remember the X-men TLS footage looked good at comic con and the film was pretty bad BVS was also in the same boat.

I totally understand that. BUT the fact the people are even responding well to anything Dark Phoenix, after months of relentless rumours and bad press, for me personally is something to cheer for. If it doesn’t suit you, all good, there’s many in the same boat and share the same thoughts. But for many of us optimistic ones, it’s welcome site.

I’d be worried if majority of reactions on twitter from all these conventions weren’t good, but alas it seems to had made an impression.

Sure people in here months ago were saying the exact opposite that Disney is going to bury it because its not their creation and might "harm their image".

Well they are letting it open against Secret Life of Pets 2, they are burying it in the summer, a time it wouldn't compete well against the bigger movies.

exactly, after so many attacks and negative rumors, seeing many people praising what they saw is very good for a movie that was already given dead
the problem is that some people try to minimize or discredit any good rumor or praise for the film.
these compliments are from people who saw things from the movie,are not random people on twitter or bloggers saying they heard from a source that the movie is good... that's good

Can they switch the dates of New Mutants and Dark PhoeniX instead? The New Mutants is just opening against Hobbs & Shaw and the Dora movie. Maybe Dark PhoeniX would do better in August.

Is Disney really gonna try to salvage these films. I don't think so, they are X-Forced to release them.

The whole emphasizing of the X thing works better when it’s actually already present in the noun, verb, adjective or adverb. I also don’t think they’re being forced by anyone to release New Mutants. That timeline isn’t specifically a theatrical release timeline, it just so happens to be that Disney Studios (the studio, not the television network) doesn’t make anything that’s not intended for theatrical release. They didn’t make New Mutants, and I still think it’ll debut with Hulu.

The theatre merch is already more than we’ve have for the other X-Men films!

Let’s hope we see some more.

X1/X2 had great merchandise, I wish that abundance continued for the rest of the series, but oh well. (I have a lot of the first films merchandise in my collection and have been trying to get all the figures over the past couple years)

I wasn’t talking about the first two films, apologies as I should have been more clear. Those were really the only ones that had proper merchandise that was more than a handful of items. X3 had a couple figures in the marvel legends series, but I don’t remember much else.(Anyone remember that awful Phoenix figure? Lol)

A lot of the Origins stuff was just repackaged comic figures from what I can remember.

I just would have liked to have seen figures for DOFP, a proper line for X3, Apocalypse etc
(I do have those little DOFP mini bobble heads I found on eBay. I think they were originally mystery figures released in Mexico from what I can remember)

I’m glad there are so many of these third party companies that are making X-men 1/6 scale figures. Hot toys only ever made Wolverine, so it’s nice to see other characters getting some love, even if not officially licenced.

Looking forward to seeing if they do some printed material for this film.

The rest of this I agree with. I'm excited for X-men to start showing up EVERYWHERE!

(this part is tweaked) "but through this force I felt the thrill of that evil and now I thirst for more." "I am to powerful for your illusions, let the world see what you truly are." and reveals her true alien form.

I also hope she switches between the force and herself. I wanna hear "Jean Grey no longer exists." "For this new sensation, the rapture of destruction, for the pleasure of the Phoenix."
"I am fire made flesh, power incarnate I AM THE DARK PHOENIX."

If they could make "oh my stars and garters" work then any of those classic lines would.

again emphasis on the rumours. Scott is trying to get through to her and she says something like "there is no Jean only Pheonix". So I think it possible she will refer to herself as Phoenix in the new cut. Even if not the dialogue from Wondercon makes "dark Pheonix" sound cold and arrogant which is all I wanted

The Dark Phoenix is mainly Jean’s own, inherent darkness that she spirals down into when she severely loses control of her powers. The bad things that happen, as a result, only twist Jean further. The Force certainly escalates things by majorly enhancing her powers. But it’s a relatable story of a woman giving into her own dark desires and the sacrifices she has to make to come back from that. It seems like they wanted it to be different (in that way) from TLS where Jean was seen as mentally ill and had multiple personalities.

My understanding/assumption is the Schizophrenia aspect will likely take place early on in the film when she first takes the force and is struggling for control with the power
