I know we do whine about cool-looking characters who are wasted all the time, but looking back I think the Apocalypse trailer has a leg over this because of the exciting addition of the cool-looking Horsemen. This doesn't seem to have any new characters exciting like that, with the exception of Jessica Chastain I guess. But that can also be a blessing so they can market the X-Men members properly.

Also, Mystique and Beast are not comparable to Bruce Banner/Hulk at all.

Speaking of call backs to X3, I wonder if that intimate scene between Jean and Scott takes place in that same subbasement bed. A callback to Wolverine/Phoenix sex scene.

It's APPARENTLY confirmed that MichaelFassbender will NOT have a big role in XMen Dark Phoenix!

He has according to the leaked trailer. And.... that's good! Because Fassbender is a great actor.

I think they'll play it off as the reason its raining and storm is standing with an umbrella is because she's too hurt/sad to focus on changing the weather.

And I think it would be silly of her to just change the weather to her liking.

In literature, as in movies, there’s such a thing as “Show, don’t tell.” It’s akin to Tom Hardy, in the Venom trailers narrating: “I’m Eddie Brock. I’m a reporter.” And since there’s a certain group here that love to deflect to MCU here’s a Mantis example: “Something’s happening.”

And now you know why *I* think it’s a terrible song choice.

(2) Perhaps you should tell the moderators that this one guy on the boards “should not have the right to expression in a forum or in life.” Let’s see how far that’ll take you.

And people have already pointed out why it’s DUMB to compare Beast/Mystique to Hulk. Super dumb.

we actually saw a pic of the scene in the EW spread last year, Scott is laying down and Jean is on top of him. I hope they do the scene right because I really think it can be a standout moment...if it is call back scene, at least Jean is actually awake this time & is in the right state of mind (from the looks of it).

Xavier: I don`t know.

Cyke told that Jean is out of control but she is still our friend.

Xavier told that world is at crash line and he couldn`t foresee it.

Magneto told Charles: You're always sorry. You always make a speech but nobody cares.

XMA had the excitment with the idea of a new generation of characters taking the leads. And those characters happened to be Scott, Jean, Ororo and Kurt. iconic X-Men characters.

But that can also be a blessing so they can market the X-Men members properly.

I don't think that's happening at all in this movie. Ororo and Kurt barely appear. Scott appears a little bit more, but not nearly as much as Eric and Charles. Not nearly.

I'm quite posite Kinberg will use the Dark Phoenix story to put Charles and Eric fighting again and making the movie about them. And this trailer is a huge indication.

Yeah, that all just sounds like a rehash of TLS, especially with Xavier knowing about the Phoenix and intentionally suppressing it/controlling Jean. With what Marvel has done with GOTG and IW, I'd be lying if I said I didn't hope for something similarly cosmic for DP. Oh well.

The trailer is pretty much about Jean. from the start where you see her as a child to the transition to an adult.

Sun sets a bright tone, Rain sets a gloomy tone. its why you will find alot of movies seem to have funerals on rainy days with people holding umbrellas.

But then to worry about whether storm should be able to control the weather in whats a sad funeral scene is probably over thinking things a little.

Its like watching Wolverine cut wood with axe and all you can think is ugh did they forget he already had indestructible sharp claws to cut things with? but then there is no point being insulted because they ain't using their power if its not convenient to use that power.
