TRAILER: ‘Dark Phoenix’ Looks Eerily Like A Remake of ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’

I won't judge a film by its trailer but it gave me so many X-Men 3 vibes... Charles manipulating Jean to protect her, Jean turning to Magneto, Phoenix being a manifestation of Jean's dark, unstable mind... I really hoped they'd follow the original comic story.

I still strongly dislike Sophie as Jean. I know others like her but Jean Grey was my absolute favourite comic book character growing up and seeing her being played by someone so underwhelming is such a disappointment. She's just not my Jean Grey (again, appreciate others will feel differently)

Anyway, I'll wait for the reviews to come in from you guys and decide then whether it's worth it or if I should give it a miss.

EDIT: I also feel like Scott is going to get shafted again when he's so integral to the story.

Some of the wardrobe choices are odd. Why put Jean in another red coat? And Selene looks like a rehash of Arclight/Callisto/Psylocke. That said, the Phoenix was relegated to such a subplot in The Last Stand that the similarities have to end somewhere.

Is it really the same writer?? I've been so disconnected from this movie that I didn't know that. I think if they wanted a fresh take, they probably should have looked for a new writer. We may end up with a rehash of The Last Stand - even if it was subconsciously done.

Fassbender,Hoult,McAvoy havent aged a lot from 2011 to 2018. i get it they are actors.. but are they f... kidding with the character in the movie? 30 years and he looks the same? Hollywood is so obssesed with young looking actors that now even characters inside movies can not look old?
