Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

Why would this matter it's not going to change the budget dramatically either way? Nice try at dramatics though.

Erik Lensherr literally just corrected you that your quoted budget is not an estimate and yet I'm the one being unnecessarily precise?

Here's the difference:

$150M Canadian is $115M US.

$150M US is $200M Canadian.

You, yourself, were correcting Lensherr with your numbers, touting that Kinberg came in under budget, reportedly saving $10M.

If anything, my wondering-out-loud if the $150Mil is US or Canadian helps your (and Kinberg's) case. :loco:

First off I wasn't even addressing Erik. Someone asked a question and I answered I didn't even see the post until after I made mine so...

You like to tell people what they're doing though you aren't psychic so maybe keep your assertions to yourself about what you couldn't possibly know.

That doesn't make sense as even if that's the case because you get tax breaks for American studios using Canada to shoot films much like in Australia (which is why most film is outsourced) that would still put you closer to 150-175 million dollar range.

So keep up the sky is falling routine. :whatever:

Someone doesn’t get how money, tax breaks, movie budgets and exchange rates work lol

All I’ll ask is: Did you really think all of the $150Mil gets a tax break? Did you really think all of that $150Mil will be spent in Canada?

And reiterating my original post, for everyone else that actually care about facts: is that $150Mil US or Cdn?

Why would it be if the original budget was 150 US? If he reiterated it would still be 150 duh it's US. Everyone knows what you're trying to do and it's not going to work.

My sources say DPh is quite good. Maybe best comic book movie in years.

Believe me, i'm a professional scooper.

Ouch if true. Emphasis on "if".

Don’t remember who he works for but I remember the screen name. He’s the guy that said Suicide Squad was amazing. All caps, spelled out. Personally, I don’t rely on other people’s opinions on something we haven’t even seen footage for.

At least 4 different people have called out your quote as making a judgement call. I'm sorry those are facts, based on your history but nice effort trying to appear impartial. It didn't work.
And I have clearly point out why that is false. My quote doesn't make a judgement call, it's stating a fact. THEY are making a judgement call ON my quote, which is quite clear for anyone to read. The only thing you're doing is following group mob mentality....as well as lying....which you have done regularly before on these threads. So I don't have to "appear" impartial....my quote was impartial. You simply didn't like it and thus continue to do what you have always done since my first interaction with you. That hasn't changed and therefore....you are predictable. Exactly as I've stated previously.

Someone else tweeted this in response to a different tweet: "Something I heard, the movie was far from generic. It was described as intense and dramatic."

Saw this on twitter, but it might be old or fake: View attachment 9745

It says "November 2019"...

Why would it be if the original budget was 150 US? If he reiterated it would still be 150 duh it's US. Everyone knows what you're trying to do and it's not going to work.

Let's do this one more time and I'll talk in simple words for the special audience of one.

If the ex-Montreal mayor meant that the budget is $150Mil US, then that's not bad a budget. It's about on par with previous instalments. You clearly *think* it's US $.

If the ex-Montreal mayor meant that the budget is $150Mil Canadian, then that's even better. That means the budget is $115Mil US.

So please tell me where in my post I'm being doom and gloom. Where in my post is the sky falling?

If he reiterated it would still be 150 duh it's US. Everyone knows what you're trying to do and it's not going to work.

AFAIK the "tweet" from the Montreal ex-mayor is the only instance $150Mil is ever mentioned. Therefore he never "reiterated" anything.

From my previous post, I reiterated, not him. Learn to know the meaning of words.

it comes from this guy

I think it was way too soon to do this storyline again. The characters weren’t that well developed after the mediocre Apocalypse. I think after spectacular visuals and action scenes like in Avengers infinity war that audiences will expect some really high caliber unique action scenes. Question is can Kinberg, who is pretty novice at directing, actually up the action scenes in Xmen after the dull, shabby and poorly choreographed and shot action scenes in apocalypse. I am doubtful given he did some directing work on fant4stic and the action scenes in that film were terrible.

Yes, that's the same guy. So it's good that he said Dark Phoenix was the worst comic book movie in years :woot:

I agree, but since they’re doing it I’m still interested.

Dark Phoenix should be an Infinity War level event. How much more intense would Infinity War have been if you take Thanos, swap him for a insane version of a character we’be met and grown with over the past 20 years and made the infinity stones his natural power. That’s the weight that a full fledge Dark Phoenix movie should have.

This movie doesn’t mean the MCU can never try again and nail it. Have a slow build, introduce a new “Jean” in the 2nd film as a returning team member, maybe pull a Homecoming style MJ with the name. 4th film go cosmic and introduce Phoenix, which the entity has already been mentioned by that point in other cosmic MCU films. 5th film go full Hellfire Saga with Mastermind and birth Dark Phoenix, have it end after the Central Park battle with the next one MCU style event film that kicks off with the destruction of a galaxy at her hands and follows an Avengers VS XMen format.

It’s called having your cake and eating it too. This movie won’t stop the MCU from doing anything.

Wow that fan marketer did an amazing job.

Actually I heard Predator istracking pretty well. I do agree that Venom is the best option though.
