Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

He’s not a big enough name to debut the trailer when there are better late night options that they could have easily secured.

Old school Fox used to debut trailers with major season premieres or finales of their network shows, so my money is on the Gifted season 2 which is the day before her talk show appearance. Use the show for the official reveal as it’s not only the same audience but it reaches further than the film franchise before the bad reputation ruined them. Win back the X-men loyalist during the gifted, lure them in with a hint of GoT( which won’t be touched on) surprise and wow the GA with a reairing of the trailer and have her finally talk in person about why his movie is so important to them.

This is their last chance to get it the X-Men right. The trailer needs to leave no room for doubt that they do anything but that. Even if the movie isn’t, they’ve had more than enough time to twist its parts and make it a solid sell.

Tell that to everyone who has been saying it’s going to be cancelled for 8 months straight. Sounds like a double standard to me. Let him gloat, he’s not being obnoxious about it like 82% of this thread...

And he’s pointing out that it didn’t take 3 months like all the negative posters have said....
 
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Iger responded to a question on how Marvel will absorb the X-Men franchise, and if Kevin Feige will oversee it:

"I think it only makes sense. I want to be careful here because of what's been communicated to the Fox folks, but I think they know. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn't be two Marvels."

yeah I read it. It makes sense to you but its not logical. Why promote a crucial film for FoX with a show that only few people watch live? It makes no sense to me. The trailer should be released with Queen not The Gifted.
 
Well if you tell people the X-Men trailer will be played with The gifted then more people will tune into the gifted to see it and that would be benefit the show in viewers.

That in itself is a strategy.
 
Yeah maybe last decade. Attach it to Queen and drop it on YouTube sometime earlier that week. That's the most likely outcome imo

Trailers don’t premier in theaters with movies anymore and they haven’t for a while. Last one I can think of that premiered exclusively in theaters as the first glimpse at a movie was for FF:Silver Surfer back December 06 with that chase scene that ended in space.

I’m talking the first time anyone has ever seen it. It is always online or during a talk show, or partial during a talk show and fully online at that moment, 100% of the time for the last decade. What movie is the Captain Marvel trailer attached to that’s helping it smash all previous records? Oh it’s none...

The trailer will obviously be attached to Queen, it’s a given but that’s not at all what I’m talking about. I’m talking about premier. And why I say the Gifted is to win back the X fan they have lost, that can generate their good word of mouth marketing and then with the following days talk show airing to win over the common folk. Queen isn’t a factor. That’s just added icing. You don’t need to take away one to have the other.

Yeah I am wondering how excited I should be for this after today's news that they'll probably be rebooting when Disney takes them.
 
That was a foregone conclusion already. Only people like John Campea were pushing for the X-men to be a separate entity.
