Anyway, I hope the trailer is released this month. Like just get this film oout of the way already. I really wish they didn't move this to February. Like I want to start anticipating about the reboot then I remember this.

It's not like anyone's twisting your arm to go see the movie. If you have that much disdain for it, then skip it and wait a couple of years until Marvel launches their version of X-men. There, problem solved. It's like you're complaining just for the sake of complaining. Simply skip it, ignore, and wait....if it's that distressful.

Wait there’s an alien invasion in dark Phoenix and in Captain Marvel ?

a simple brotherhood vs xmen story to set up an xmen universe would’ve done the trick. Jean storm cyclops nightcrawler beast Charles VS Magneto quicksilver toad avalanche blob, maybe introduce Emma Frost somewhere

I remember when news came out that there’d be a quicksilver in avengers 2, fox swapped juggernaut for quicksilver; when guardians of the galaxy got popular, they randomly announced Psylocke had been cast but they changed her hair to look exactly like Gamoras but she had no lines... I was honestly waiting for scarlet witch but I guess it’s all about competing or trying to catch up to marvel ?? I don’t know what your take is on that.

All that's been revealed is that aliens are in Dark Phoenix. We don't know if there's an invasion. That was one of many rumors. And I don't know if there's an invasion in Captain Marvel either. Captain Marvel may set up Secret Invasion in later films, tho.

An epic and mysterious #DarkPhoenix trailer has been shown at 20th Century Fox product presentation in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Well this is good news. So far, every trailer that Fox has shown of this movie has gotten positive reactions. Seems like Fox is pacing itself for the right timing to release the official trailer. Can't wait to see it.

I don't know why so many people spend so much of their time commenting on the internet about films they are not anticipating, but to each their own! I come here because I am very much looking forward to seeing the X-Men go out with a bang, especially after Apocalypse was the first X-Men movie I walked out of underwhelmed. I am not thinking about the eventual Marvel/Disney X-Men films right now because they are years away. Eventually I will get excited about the first casting for a Disney X-Men film, but for now I am excited to see:

- X-Men in space!
- X-Men on missions!
- Storm/Cyclops/Jean having big power displays!
- X-Men fighting non-human/mutant antagonists for the first time!
- 90s music and references (Brandy!)
- Phoenix flying around!

And right now I want to be excited about a trailer, so hurry up Fox!

According to trailer track, they anticipate the trailer being shown when Venom releases in theaters on the 5th of October. They also said trailers typically debut online a week or two before shown in theaters, so that means we might see a trailer release sometime within the next week closing out September. I think this is the obvious decision now that Fox has just shown a trailer during their product presentation. Seems like marketing is starting to gear up.

If a new updated trailer is waiting to go then next week is the date with Sophie talk show appearance being the latest it will show. No one has gotten the clear to start GoT as it’s too early and HBO has that on lock down and it’s not like she has much else new to talk about. This is the kickoff for marketing.

I’m intrigued as to what the Poster reveal will entail!

No. I watch every X-Men and Marvel movie coming out in theater. I am a completist. Anyway, can't wait when this film is released and when all things about this film are all said and done. The sooner this franchise ends, the better. And it's easy to say just wait for a couple of years, but you do realize how long a year takes and no one is getting younger in those of couple of years of waiting. X-Men is the #1 IP that I want to get right in the movies and watch. So you're not gonna give me this just wait for a couple of years and pretend that this film doesn't eXist and just ignore it, when you know that Dark PhoeniX still has X-Men characters and any bad representation isn't helpful to the brand.

I didn't accuse you of anything. And I doubt Kinberg has time to post in a forum like SHH. I don't even think he read the comics religiously.

You are the one accusing posters of false things.

Anyway, Like I've said, this is not the second coming of Logan, given who's attached to the film and even if they are promoting this as the final X-Men film for the fc cast, I doubt the general public would care. So a slow burn / late marketing approach isn't wise. Anyway, Fox is just proving that the X-Men is not good anymore under their hands, with all these questionable decisions.

seeing that gif of Captain Marvel again....... cant help but feel that somehow Captain Marvel will steal Dark Phoenix moment, both are big female roles, overpowered, both releasing almost around the same time of the year.... and CM being Marvel Studios first big female lead movie.

Its a bit sad. The Phoenix Saga is iconic and deserved/deserves to get all the spotlight.

wouldnt be surprised if CP ends with a bigger boxoffice too

Oh please. Enough with "the brand" nonsense. People by now know the different approaches of the two studios. They've already seen two different quicksilvers on screen and the merger talk has dominated so much of social media that so many are aware that Marvel will eventually have their version of x-men. Dark Phoenix is not stopping anyone from anticipating MCU's X-men. kevin Feige is likely to cast with new actors, new faces. It's not like anyone's going to confuse the two versions. And don't act like MCU hasn't had any bad representation from films of characters they've acquired over the past years. Didn't harm those brands. Marvel has their own formulaic style of film-making tailored to blockbuster profits (for marketing purposes of course, it's Disney). So, yes....you're simply going to have to take it.....and wait....whether you like it or not. Complaining about Dark Phoenix isn't going to make it go any faster.

This happens alot with movies. people panic that there is no marketing going on and then suddenly marketing is thrown at us at full force for the next few months and people forget there was even a gap of no marketing at all.

Every time I see that shot of Captain Marvel, the only thing I can think of are TV show powers. Did not look impressive to me. (does she become Binary in the movie? Aren't those powers associated with Binary?) Even the video games with that character are more impressive.Which is why I did not like the Captain Marvel trailer at all. It reminded me of a tv show, even how she talked. Guardians of the Galaxy looked more impressive to me than this and excited me more. If the Dark Phoenix trailer manages to make more of an impression than the Captain Marvel trailer, then it may give CM a run for its money. And Dark Phoenix's powers will need to look far more impressive & unique than in Apocalypse (the long post production schedule suggest it will). I think more people are likely to see Captain Marvel because she will be in the next Avengers movie and people tend to see every marvel film to pick up clues (which is how they're structured to get people to watch each one). But I think CM will be far more formulaic to other Marvel films whereas Dark Phoenix is doing a major tonal & genre shift.

Dark PhoeniX might not make a damage to future X-Men MCU films, but they certainly won't touch Dark PhoeniX in a long time, the way Marvel Stud10s had ignored using certain characters in the MCU Spider-Man films. And still, a bad film adaptation is a bad adaptation. It doesnt make it less forgivable if it doesn't hurt the brand in the long run. Also, it is also about respecting the source material, and in my opinion, Kinberg once again won't give half of the characters in the film justice.

It will outgross Dark PhoeniX just like how Ant-Man and the Wasp outgrossed X-Men: Apocalypse worldwide. Also Ant-Man 2 will soon outgross Logan worldwide if it gets 3 more million.

I think Dark Phoenix is going to be a tough sell. The story of a young woman who has a mental breakdown after gaining great power was a big deal way back when it was published. But it was a tad outdated even back then - Why didn't Norrin Radd go insane when he was granted the power cosmic? Or Don Blake when he picked up Mjolnir? And the years have not been kind. Moviegoers are much more likely to want to see gals who CAN handle their awesome abilities, like Diana and Carol, than to once again watch Jean's downward spiral on the big screen.

A lot of MCU fans were upset that Simon Kinberg was going back to the Dark Phoenix well for his directorial debut, but I was hopeful that it meant that Feige won't be touching that storyline. I prefer to see Jean kickin' butt and not wiggin' out.

It will be lucky to outgross The Wolverine in North America. Fox had recent under performances with Alien, Fantastic Four, Predator, Independence Day and every year, there's a franchise that hits an all time box office low. neXt year, it would be Dark PhoeniX and the New Mutants if the later gets a theatrical release. Anyway, if Venom earns a lot of $ neXt month despite poor reviews, then maybe this wouldn't underperform. And even Venom seems more fresh than this. Anyway, we'll know if this just looks like another X-Men film when the trailer comes out later this month.
