Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

You can bet they are going for a wide release just to get some of it back to cover the cost, even if they don't make a profit.

I honestly don't see this movie not being a big improvement on Apocalypse in every way, and that combined with a marketing campaign that clearly paints this film as a finale should definitely bring them a bigger box office. I just don't know if Fox at this stage really wants to market it as a finale when the reality is it was meant to be a 2 part film with a cliffhanger, and it will be if for some unlikely reason the merger doesn't go through. To me marketing this as the end of a 20 year franchise would put more butts in seats and also help quiet all of the haters who just want to see the X-Men in Disney's hands.

On Sophie Turners Late Late Show with James Corden appearance.

This one will be a new interview to promote her new upcoming projects.

Which new upcoming projects? With Game of Thrones still without an official date for return could this be about DPh trailer.

Yes Apocalypse was ultimately Singer's failure along with his writers, one of whom is still here: Writing, producing and directing this movie.

If that thought fills you with positive thoughts of Dark Phoenix then good for you, I guess.
What fills me with positivity is that we will have an x-men movie under one unified vision rather than several different viewpoints meshed together into one single script. I'm curious to see what Knberg's directing style is like. I've never seen it. I've tired of Singer. Want something different.

Are you really trying to sell the idea that Kinberg was never on the set of Fant4stic for it to be possible for him to ghost-direct it? Did Singer lock up Kinberg (along with Harris and Dougherty) in that room from December 2013 til Apocalypse wrapped in January 2016 never to leave their Apocalypse story sessions?

Talk about blameless.
What I'm trying to point out is that there was no need for Kinberg to be on the set of Fantastic4 when they already had a team there taking over reshoot duties. That's why he was working on Apocalypse. It seems you are simply trying to place blame where there isn't one. Fantastic4 was Josh Trank's failure as the director. Who again....you love to overlook.

I usually like Grace Randolph's takes although I disagree a lot. This time she seems to be taking joy in a lot of fan's potential disappointment, which just makes her look like a ***** to me now.
It's funny. A lot of people are either enthusiastic fans of hers or downright despise her, based on what I've seen on twitter. She seemed.....semi-positive, I guess, about the movie before the merger was announced. Then all of a sudden, because of the fake rumors, she suddenly bought into the idea that the film was automatically canned. And it's no secret she's not a Jessica Chastain fan, lol.

That's probably the first time I've heard of anyone complaining that the X-men mainline films were "several different viewpoints meshed together." (Yes the franchise is notorious for its continuity issues but that's not because its director is one of many writers.)

Even if other fans did complain that the writer and director are two different people (which, again is a thing people have never complained about) I'd be interested to hear why the heck they'd be ok with that "unified vision" coming from the hack who wrote X3, Fant4stic and Apocalypse. After all, it's been a consensus amongst fans that those three, along with Wolverine 1, are some of worst in the franchise.

So Kinberg probably wouldn't have been their first (or 6th) choice. Unlike you, most people can see Kinberg is as much to blame for those films. I'd hazard a guess that some X-men film fans are only ok with that hack now, and would defend him, because he's working on their favourite franchise.

Were you not one of the many people who have praised Kinberg for being a great producer? And yet here you are saying he wasn't and did not need to be on the F4 set. That might be a valid excuse for a hired writer. But no, Kinberg was producer and writer of the film. "Genre Films" aka "Kinberg Genre" is credited for the film. For a very troubled film with a very high price tag, you don't think the studio would've wanted all-hands-on-deck, especially its producer? Kinberg is also one of Hollywood's "top" script doctors. They were bound to have someone with Kinberg's "talents" on-hand.

But no, you say he was never there.

So why is it you want to place Kinberg as far away from the Fant4stic set as possible? Is it because you don't want to admit that he shares the blame for Trank's Fant4stic? Nice try.

She really hates Jessica Chastain. But why?

Oh she does? She's crazy then. I always got a hater vibe from her. I don't watch her much but I was surprised at her take on the Green Book trailer saying it looked over acted. The film has since gone on to get Best Picture buzz. Guess she's just wrong a lot.

She tends to come of as a major anti-feminist lately. She is pretty anti Kennedy as the head of Lucas film as well - the vitriol is epic to behold. I partially agree with her about this all-girl movement in movies lately - especially when it makes zero sense story-wise, but she tends to take it kinda overboard. Her commentaries are kinda fun to listen to, but she is often way of the mark in her analysis and predictions.

I think we need a Grace Randolph appreciation thread if there isn't one already. :hehe:
And that feud she had with Campea, .... good times

Grace Randolph has always been an unstable maniac.

She cray.

In her deadpool 2 review she spoke about how after the X-Men cameo it made her feel sad that this universe could come to an end.

But the impression i get is that grace seems to like controversy. these films being released wouldn't be controversial. but if they are cancelled then she will have a video out being like Ohhhh the marvel fox deal has come up with some INTERESTING results.

Looks like XMenfilms.com has saw the trailer.

If that's the case, they've been begging for the release so it must be good...but when I saw that tweet, I was more so thinking that XMenFilms is getting impatient over the fact that we don't have a trailer yet lol. It never crossed my mind that they may have seen the trailer.

Grace is just a contrarian attention seeker. Id much rather listen to Campea who has more substance to his arguments than Grace frikkin Randolph.

I bet she hates Chastain even more since Jessica said she turned down previous superhero movies because of their portrayals of female characters. Wouldnt be surprised if it was one of Graces "favoured brands"

People like Grace, ChrisM and the other fake newser is the reason why i hate the Internet sometimes

The new party that come to power here in Italy is all based on fake news (false crimes by foreigns, false new tax, impratical promises like the one about give a salary even to all people without works )

Of these all what scares me the most is that danielRPK, he practically makes a negative campaign for the movie
every week he put in his twiter that the film is horrible, he made sure to refill any negative rumor, I think a strange behavior..
