It's an ok trailer. Focuses mostly on Jean, as you'd expect, but I'd have liked to have seen more on Chastain's character and Genosha. Those costumes still look crap too.

when Magneto has more lines/shots than the supposed main villain (Chastain's alien), you know this studio is ****ed up.

I was really sure the trailer would surprise me, but the result is so underwhelming. and no, its not just about the action, but about the overall approach (same bits as X3, same Magneto-Charles talk... same old same old) but this time without Rogue, Iceman and Kitty, but with Storm and Nightcrawler as extras in the trailer.

no comments about Beast and Mystique in human form in the damm school where they live. its the most stupid thing Ive ever seen in the genre. total lack of logic and really forced.

visually looks good, no surprise there, we are in f*** 2018, but the teaser is a huge meh and been there done that.

After the release date got pushed back, and the news of reshoots my hype for this film had gone down. However, this trailer delivered for me. All the talk of this being a more grounded take on the story seems to represented in the trailer. As of right now this, and Glass are my most anticipated films for next year.

A very underwhelming trailer. It's been done once before and it doesn't really excite me to see it again, regardless of how faithful they are to the comics.

A great cast, clearly, but not much else to praise. You can almost feel the curtain coming down...

I think i preferred the russian trailer a little more. but i think thats due more to how they handled the music in that trailer.

I honestly didn't think it would be a different teaser.

The ones in FC were basically just uniformed-colored flight suits, like made out of the stuff real ones are.

Which was fine for that movie, as it kinda gave the impression they were just made for protection in the jet, g-forces and all, but you probably wouldn't want that as a "custom, one-of-a-kind X-Men-made X-Men uniform" overall. They looked cool, but honestly the new ones do too. Wish they weren't all identical, but overall it's still by far the closest to like "classic, 80s Claremont X-Men" we've got so far. Hell, it's probably the closest to the comics you'd practically want to get anyway, the movies are a different beast. This look is sort of "MCU sweet spot" zone, reflecting the history but revamped & made more amenable to be used in live-action without looking laughable.

Then again, I was more or less fine with the leather jumpsuit original-trilogy Singer-era stuff, so what do I know?

But yeah, the black leather criticisms felt legit. Here it's kinda like...people will complain either way, this is the closest we've had to the comics so far, I'm good.

I think it doesn't have much texture to me and is bland. The flight suits felt more compelling to me.

Oh dear lord that helmet and outfit. I admire Vaughn trying to honor the books, but that's easily the worst look Magneto has had in these films.

I think that helmet is better than all of the prequel ones.

Jeans hair is so annoying ugh why do they style it like that? It's weird looking all brushed back and too much hairspray. I wish it was more flowing.

Anyway the trailer was okay. Idk. I don't have big expectations for the film so imma just enjoy it for what it is 'cause its the last ever one with this cast i think and i love the phoenix <3

Wow anybody else get the last stand flashbacks how the F can they repeat the same garbage again and once again Lawrence is not in blue make up in some scenes why the F bother
and Chastain is terrible to begin with so good that she is playing a made up character for she won't butcher an existing one

It's more than his dialogue. It's largely the same plot in regards to Jean. Xavier locks away a part of Jean and she develops a split personality years later and goes on the rampage.

Except the blocks aren't really the reason she goes on a rampage. The events of the space mission are which is completely different from X3.

Funny, the complaints about the similarities to X3 seem to be about scenes that X3 actually got right as far as the Dark Phoenix Saga, like the confrontation of the team at her home/neighboorhood.

I guess one would actually have to see the rest of the 2+ hours of the movie to really know.

Anybody else wondering what's going on with Quicksilver? Just noticed that he's absent from a few shots with the team. My guess is he either dies, or teams up with Magneto. I'm hoping for the ladder.

The blocks this time from Prof X don’t seem to be subduing her power compared to Last Stand and more about him hiding away her memories of killing her parents or something like that.

Overall I liked the trailer
although the storm does not do anything in it, my criticism and that they could show a little more action of the movie, but okay, I'll wait for the second trailer, and I hope this time they launch on schedule that everyone is awake.
