I don't mind the trailer not being action heavy either. If it was told by Jean's POV and Scott's, it would've made a big difference.

Which is totally understandable. They originally filmed before the merger was a thing. If they had set up for a sequel, that has to be completely overhauled. Some things are out of their control and they have to adapt.

Reshooting basically half the movie is not correcting a film that set up a sequel. That's cleaning up a mess of Kinberg's making.

Alita and Dark Phoenix are two $200m films and both have very low hype so I can see them trying to do their best to maximize profits. Alita was coming out alongside Bumblebee and Aquaman so that was probably going to flop in December. This PG-13 Deadpool definitely sounds like a Disney test.

On a side note, I just do not get Alita lol.

Omg it proves nothing. THERE IS A FREAKING ACQUISITION IN PROCESS. You think they have the luxury of just proceeding as if nothing is happening. All of Fox's films have to be released by a certain date (that we the public have no idea about); there's going to be a lot scrambling going on for all of their films.

Honestly, what are you even doing on this forum? These movies are literally 2 hrs of your life; the main joy/entertainment for a lot of us are the months of speculation and discussion. We spend these moments on ups and downs, but if you're just going to be down all the damn time, just why??

I'm actually bummed about another summer release date for an X-Men movie because that hasn't been working for any non-OT X-Men film.

But I really don't think this has anything to do with Kinberg and the production and everything to do with Fox trying to figure out dates for all the movies they have left in production.

First half of next year, actually. So anywhere between January to July. Disney will probably have Fox by Spring and they can release this movie to Disney Play and market it as the epic conclusion to the franchise. Disney could use another exclusive anyway to get more people interested.

yeah meaning it has nothing to do with the movie's production. They released their trailer with the date that they planned. If the production was sooooo troubled, they wouldn't have done that. This was likely a decision out of their control.

Remember when November was a good month? People were saying (and I agreed then) that it was good for the franchise to move from that busy summer month. And then it got moved to Valentine's date and the defense then was that they didn't want to go head-to-head with a 4 quadrant movie in The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Plus that February date worked out so well for Deadpool and Black Panther, they said.

I wonder what Kinberg et al will say this time.
