Well its one question, if they can recoup their money from Alita which cost around 150 to 200 million dollars. Its another if Fox is really gonna try to withdraw more money for a film like this (you know what I mean). Also Alita is coming out in ten days, and there's no new trailer for Dark Phoenix that will be attached to it? Fox not having enough confidence with their own films, geez.

I think they just wanted to ride the Captain Marvel hype if the word about the trailer release date is true.

It’s sad when Fox’s tent pole movie is reliant on the movie of a different studio for it to succeed. Or even going so far as to delay their movie just to release a trailer in time for that other movie. You don’t think that sounds ridiculous at all?

It is ridiculous but makes sense from a financial stand-point. You have a Marvel branded film with a similar plot to that of Captain Marvel(even takes place in the same date) and a female lead with a power-up that resembles Carol’s. On top of that many believe this is connected to the MCU. Why not take advantage of that? Infinity War did something similar by making it look like Black Panther was heavily featured in it after his solo movie made bank.

I’ve met people I know personally who don’t know. Why do you think Incredible Hulk flopped? Because people thought it was a sequel to the Ang Lee film.

Back in October an interviewer asked Sophie if she is up to be in the MCU. That same month someone asked Kevin Feige if Deadpool survived the snap. Recently, in a Glass interview the interviewer asked James and Sam about teaming up again as Xavier and Fury.

I also remember reading the comment section of the trailer on YouTube and saw some people asking if this was in the MCU because of the deal.

I would also like to point out that Solo was a part of the Star War universe but that didn’t save it from bombing. So what if Apocalypse underperformed? There have also been MCU films that made less than it.
