Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

I was waiting for someone to bring this up. but lets remember he technically also erased either his own movies to do it or elements of his own movies anyway.
Here's another scenario: He hated what X3 did to the franchise so much he was willing to allow his movies to be casualties as well.
Mind=Blown.
And the moment he introduced Nightcrawler into Apocalypse, he pretty much hit a reset button there for that character. although he probably didn't need to do that in order to delete X3... so does he hate his own movies?
Apocalypse was set after DOFP. I thought the excuse for the retcon of these characters was that DOFP reset everything, so with that thinking Nightcrawler is fair game.

What about Toad? he totally redesigned the character for no reason. even before DOFP even finished. what about retconning his own details mentioned in X1 about Xavier and Magneto that he has even admitted being responsible for in FC? there is just as much changing his own details as there is anything X3 related.

Maybe it was never about spite, but more an excuse for freedom.

X3 killed major characters that Singer would not have killed off. Two for sure. With his scriptment for his sequel to X2, it's highly likely Jean would've survived in another form.

That's reason enough for someone who's created this universe to hate a particular movie. Why must you make things so difficult?

Wonder Con confirmed. Has to be where they drop the next trailer?

If you wanna judge a book by its cover and make up your own story, then you will never find out what its really about.

Bryan has made enough changes that if you focus on that one element as a spiteful aim at X3... then you are ignoring everything else to do that.

Dunno about trailer, but it sounds like those who attend will get 2 clips from the film. the opening space mission and part of the new york battle.

Rumour has it their showing clips from the space rescue and the NYC battle.
I think the space mission is most likley (as it been well received at NY and Brazil comicon).

I doubt we will get a new trailer. The third is usually the final trailer at it seems too far out. The earliest I could see is perhap late April (to be attached to endgame in the cinema) but I feel mid May is more likley.

Maybe they could have a short teaser made up of new footage (I believe Capatain marvel has somehting like that before the final trailer; it was short compared to a 2.5min final trailer).

Cinemacon is also next week. I wonder if Disney might save whatever new footage they have for that.

Yea coz you know everything about the goings-on behind-the-scenes. You didn't even believe any of the things I've been saying and I've *actually* been on the set LOL

I doubt it will be "attached." Attached means it's included in every showing of the movie.

in April they could release some scene from the film (something with was done in DOFP)

Here's another scenario:
He's always been mediocre to good, at best, and never really cared about the characters or their stories (remember it was DeSanto who basically begged him to sign on, and it was DeSanto who was the fan), which is why he never bothered, or could, come up with a coherent timeline or attempt to keep continuity.
That's not even factoring in how much the drug problems interfered, or his perverse obsessions.

I highly, highly doubt that the time travel ending of DOFP was a decision made solely by Bryan Singer because he hated X3. I'm sure the studio had some say there, as did other creatives.

Fans had been clamoring for and speculating about the possibility even when Matthew Vaughn was attached to the project as it was developing.

Haven't they shown the space shuttle rescue enough now? It's like that's the only part that's finished, lol...

And we're hearing Storm has a role with no real substance, but lots of power displays. Fingers crossed her line of dialogue from the trailer doesn't end up on the cutting room floor!

Its an early sequence they are obviously happy to show audiences. technically they don't have to show any clips at these events.

Everyscenes from storm wil end up in the movie and meake the cut... she has much more lines and scenes than her storm verse in apocalypse and she is so much stronger than ever and dhe has lot's of action

From a "business" perspective I'm sure the major push for DoFP was the fact they could have the original and current cast come together for one film.

The shuttle sequence seems like a good thing to show.

(A) it been shown before so won't provide more spoilers for the film.

(B)it's been recieved very well at both showings. And that was with unpolished CGI/tempt scoring.

(C) it's a good way of marketing them as a team; it seems to be the first time we've really seen the x-men work together with their powers (I'm still surprised the worked out how to give Storm something to do in space). Plus, it seems to embrace the more "comicbooky" aspect of their powers; such as how cyclops beams are used.

I saw thecrescue mission spsce scene and storm use her powers to seal the cracks with ice... and she has 2 dialouque there... first when mistiwue ask her to take control of the shuttle and she says yes she would... and later she says i can't hold it any longer

Serje this is not a spoilers thread. Either spoiler tag it or best to delete it.

Some people here don't want to read spoilers. Thats why there is a spoilers thread for that.

I just hope comic-con audiences aren't misled that more of the film is set in space, when this is the only part in space (and, even then, only on the edge of space).

I also wonder why the space thing is such a big deal and was such a major expense and major achievement. We've seen space sequences in Star Wars, Star Trek, GoTG and countless other space movies. It's not like it's difficult to achieve, it should be easier than ever these days with the current capabilities of VFX.

I hope it isn't a case of nothing else in the film matching up to the space shuttle sequence in terms of scale or spectacle. People will feel let down.
