Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

lol yeah that's some Engrish right there
Racist much?
They’re sort of competing. The military’s after Jean because of the incident at Red Hook. This brings them to Genosha. Jean reacts violently (as seen in trailers/clips) while Magneto tries to stop her from hurting the soldiers/Genoshans. It’s interesting because Magneto struggles using his powers against Jean, while she barely has to even exert energy to use hers.
So Magneto
has been a good guy for 10 years between 1983 and 1992?
Talk about suspension of disbelief. This is what's frustrating about these 10 year jumps.

Seriously???
It was a clearly butchered translation, I blame Google Translate, not the race of the person who wrote the original copy... so no, but thanks for playing.
If it was a non-Asian language would you have said Engrish? Doubt it.

it's a common internet term for piss-poor translations, and yes, it would apply to any language
but whatevs, not engaging this any further

this is Oscar material storytelling.

PLEASE GIVE US A GLIMPSE OF JEAN GOING FULL PHOENIX , THAT'S ALL I ASK. I wouldn't mind it it was only a glimpse from the head up like we saw in the first LEAKED trailer.

You'll get this.
if what I have read about this new trailer is true, let's finally see the phoenix in its final form

Between 1963-1992 I can count the number of days, in total, Charles and Magneto met up.

They knew each other and hung out for a few days in First Class, and then no contact for 10 years between FC and its sequel. Then Xavier helps Magneto escape his Pentagon cell in DOFP and after an over night flight to Paris together, Magneto tries to kill Mystique the next day, after which they then meet again in DC where Magneto tries to kill Nixon and his cabinet the following day. No contact between the "good friends" until Magneto shows up at the mansion with Apocalypse a decade later, spending a day max together in Egypt with a kidnapped Xavier, Erik helps to bring about the literal apocalypse, only to do his umteenth heel turn and is then name-dropped by news organizations as the primary hero in 1983 (Mystique was the one who saved the world in 1973) with no mention of the X-men.

Kinberg would have us believe the X-men are now national heroes in Dark Phoenix.

Kinberg would also have us believe that Magneto has been doing nothing but good deeds since the end of Apocalypse, and is in turn saving soldiers when other mutants are doing them harm. Yes that Magneto...

I would advocate for Kinberg to write a joke in about how Charles and Magneto have only met once every ten years but it would be a Kinberg-written joke. No one wants that.

I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, these decade hopping shenanigans is the very definition of laziness. Singer and Kinberg love the decade jumping because it covers their tracks when it comes to this franchise's less-than-stellar continuity record.

I'll never understand why Singer bothered with a continuity clean-up for DOFP only to ruin it again straight after. The disregard for simple logic between films will not be missed when this series is rebooted.

I even got lazy just reading your summary, lol (no shade to you). But yeah, its the perfect definition of lame storytelling, and lazy approach to the source material, with lazy development to the core x-men (the ones that should matter).

Jean and Storm, two heavy heights, didnt even talk in X-Men Apocalypse. When will we see these two icons becoming actual friends? likely not in Dark phoenix, lol. just like in X3 they barely talked. and both movies written by the same a*****.

Disgusting. really disgusting. But "hey! Magneto is good now! he has a new town! come see it in my movie" "oh, but its a cheap version of the place you all have seen in the comics and tv shows, sorry for that" :barf:

When you're talking about super-hero films - the defining block-buster of this generation - the numbers are very important as both an indicator that the films are appealing to their audience, and also that they are securing their sequels.

Doesn't matter for THIS movie.

Theoretically, what could be released tomorrow that isn't a new trailer (which I think is most likely)?

It's seem to early for clips and they would announce TV spots.

Completely agree, and this got me thinking of X2, the best film in the franchise. Seeing Jean, Scott, Storm, Rogue and Bobby in the museum was like catching up with old friends. You've been apart, and they've changed somewhat, but they are pretty much where you left them. In the FC series each installment is essentially a soft reboot.

probably trailer
some people are talking about that can be released on youtube a complete scene of a few minutes of the film (similar to what was done in DOFP)
but I think it's too early to do that

I don't care which place it is set, just showcase those two that they included in the poster.

Good movie or not, that "continuity clean-up" movie was only achieved by featuring a very-much-alive Charles Xavier in his Patrick Stewart body, a Wolverine with Adamantium claws (after a previous movie's entire plot was removing them), and a Kitty Pryde with unexplained, random time travel powers. Singer and Kinberg were never attached to any of the things they previously wrote. They just did as they please.

Heck, after years of apologizing for The Last Stand, Kinberg took back that apology and said the only thing wrong with X3 was that Dark Phoenix shared screen time with The Cure.

I hope it’s trailer 3 or splice footage of the NYC park battle. The scene for DOFP the opening battle sequence is what put butts in seats when they released that online back in 2014. I remember how excited people were when they scene Iceman use his ice slide. Showing Storm using new powers and the others fighting not to mention Jean pushing Magneto threw that window should generate some buzz.

I dont see why it wouldn't be trailer 3 they would want it attached to End Game. Just thinking about the trailers that could be attached to End Game is actually getting me excited. Lion King, Star Wars, Spider-Man,Dark Phoenix...
