Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

This would have been absolutely wild and the perfect way to close out this series in an epic finale! :wow: Imagine bringing Singer back to direct one last time as well as Tyler Mane as Sabretooh and Ray Park as Toad. Just the Ultimate love letter to the Fox X-Men franchise. And this would have had actual merit since you're bringing back the original cast people grew up with. Dark Phoenix is not an epic conclusion. Nothing has "led up to this" point.

I could easily see the MCU pulling off this story in their X-franchise.

Here's another movie idea i had that follows after logan movie with x23..

involves x23 meeting up with kelsey grammar beast

Dofp was deftly crafted by Kinberg. DP will smash
It was crafted by Singer. While Goldman and Vaughn got story credits. I've read the original script, it wasn't good enough. Singer and company obviously fiXed Kinberg's Dofp script.

Who fiXed Kinberg's Dark PhoeniX script or helped him polish it?

First look at dazzler!!!!

If anybody cares

Waaaaait I just noticed that there are shots of the dazzler actress in this snippet! Although it looks like b-roll or from the start of her performance before her plasma lights really make it all pop so so much more, that’s her.

My god... THAT MUSIC!!!!! Holy crap it’s fantastic. Hans Zimmer is the man. I’ve watched that X-Jet clip 15 times and I’m hooked on that music already. So operatic and rather haunting.

Seems like another Amazing Spider-Man 2. Phenomenal music, great visuals and performances, comic faithful, but totally wonky script that kind of breaks it all apart.

All I know is that I’m already in love with the score. No doubt on loop for the rest of summer

Also, I have to note, J-Law Mystique has never looked better. Her makeup actually looks like natural blue skin this time. Beast looks perfect finally too.

You was right Icekid! Dazzler looks AMAZING! Straight from the comic!

There has to be a study somewhere or a survey that tells the studios audiences, in the long run, prefer the edited down clips presented to them pre-release. Is it because we are then pleasantly surprised that the scene is better when the movie plays out? Otherwise I don’t understand why Studios release these heavily butchered/cut down scenes as promotional material.

Because it makes no sense to reveal a scene in its complete form before the movie hits theaters, and sometimes these scenes include bits that simply wouldn't make much sense if taken out of context, or make the scenes way too long to be presented as a clip. And these clips are made for electronic press kits. It's material the International press can use to fill their reports about the movie. But now in the age of Internet they're presented directly to the audience. They are still promo clips, and to be taken as promotional material such as spots and trailers, and not a complete and final look at what we're going to see in theaters.
That's what the movie itself is for.

I love First Class and Future Past as well and Apocalypse is just meh. Big letdown from the first two films. Apocalypse as a villain just did not work. Awful design and incredibly boring.

All I'm hoping for with Dark Phoenix is for it to be more entertaining than Apocalypse was.

I rewatched Apocalypse this weekend and thats the exact feeling I got more than anything. About 45 minutes into the movie it just hit a brick wall and things slow down to a halt. I watched X2 the week before and the pacing difference is night and day (I think X2 is the best paced CBM alongside The Avengers - perfectly lean with no excess fat). With Apocalypse, its the whole sub arc of Mistique coming back to the mansion and talking to Charles which is yawn inducing. Followed by Stryker appearing again leading to the unneccsary Wolverine cameo thats dragged out even furthur at the end when Jean is probing Logans mind for what seems like an age - just for fan service and ''foreshadowing'' (wasnt this already hinted at in DOFP?)

Its not a terrible movie and I think the ~50% critic score is about right, but heres hoping Kinbergs learned how to structure his scripts better so theres no wasted filler junk like there was in Apocalypse.

:applaud

I would also be tempted to add James Mardens' Cyclops to that story; have him work alongside Beast and Magneto in rebuilding Cerebro and the danger room (as in the original script of X3) to help train the young mutant kids to become a matured team who can work together to follow in the footsteps of the fallen legendary X-men (the kids idolised the xmen in Logan through reading their stories in comic books like laura)

Spot on. Apocalypse starts off just fine, but after Magneto's family is killed, it just drags

Aladdin was getting terrible pre-release buzz and now that has surprisingly great reviews. Maybe the same could happen here?

The problem with "X-Men: Apocalypse" is, in my opinion, that it was rushed. And Bryan Singer's antics and distractions sure didn't help the product. I still think that it's not as bad as people say it is. It's subpar when compared to "Days of Future Past," but not a trainwreck. And definitely a much better entry in the franchise than "X-Men: The Last Stand" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

maybe
anything can happen
it would be smart to disney / fox release some online reviews for the movie, many people are waiting to see if this movie is good or bad to buy ticket or not.
if they are good this will help in the sale of tickets
if they are bad it is no use hiding this until June 4, the result will be bad anyway.

Not sure if anyone has seen John Wick 3 yet but there are some spoilers in this article. But it’s so true. For an Oscar winning actress Hollywood has not been fair to Halle. I feel like she still hasn’t been forgiven for the Catwoman movie. It’s such a shame because she’s awesome and I hope after John Wick 3 she gets better roles again. It’s kind of sad because look at Ben Affleck or the cast of the recent Fantastic 4. Who’s careers are still intact. Box office flops would ruin top careers and Halle copped the brunt of that unfairly.

After 'John Wick 3,' it's time for the Halle Berrenaissance to begin

Hopefully
That’s my main issue overall with it. The moment the mansion explodes it just went south.
I don't mind the stuff with Scott, Jean and Kurt actually. It's probably one of my favourite parts.

I don't think it's terrible either, it's just meh. But I do like Last Stand a little bit more than Apocalypse

FoX could have easily invited her (and the rest of the ot cast) for two more X-Men films after Dofp, or at least Logan. It was weird seeing her and Tatum in Kingsman and not together in a X-Men film.

I don't think it was just Catwomen. it probably didn't help her career overall to have been the one to lead that movie and for it to be treated like her major hollywood lead role. but i imagine it was just the momentum of her career thats the problem.
