Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

We get it Apocalypse sucked. The same Apocalypse that Kinberg wrote and the same Apocalypse Kinberg ghost-directed together with Singer.
You use the words “full force” when we’re discussing comic book characters and there’s a shot of the character in question literally at their full force literally ripping a planet apart.
Yes and Cktop posts a 3 second gif of Magneto controlling metal (something he's done countless number of times in these movies). And another 3 second gif of Magneto floating down (after he had just prevented Apocalypse from walking over to attack Xavier in "Storm's apartment.") But you two expect him to do the overacting bit from Genosha to prove that somehow Kinberg is a better director?
I don’t understand how you can’t just say okay let’s revise what I said and be at that. I can acknowledge if I’m wrong or may be wrong and have done so at every turn, but why argue purely for the sake of it. No need to insult anyone’s intellect. Let’s be ‘intellectually honest’.

Now that I know what you meant because you clarified it, whereas it was not black and white where you originally stated, sure. Understood loud and clear.
Stop acting all so innocent and playing the victim card. Your posts are as condescending as you think mine are.
Well, that’s rich!
Can I help you?

No clue, would need more details about your local theater, size, screen count and other theaters in the area to provide an answer. Look into Secret Life if Pets as well? That’s tracking better than Dark Phoenix. If there’s only one large format screen and the local demographic has more families with small children (theaters take this heavily into account when allocating screens), then they could be putting that for more of their 7pm/8pm timeslots.

You can see it here. X-Men: Dark Phoenix It's the same thing with Godzilla 2. Currently only has 2 screenings on the 30th. Secret life of pets 2 only has 2 advanced screenings currently open for booking on the 8th and 9th.

And you say you used to be a mod?

Anyways, I think the two screenings on the Thursday is normal. Afterall the movie doesn't officially open til the next day, the Friday.

That said, the theatre close to my house doesn't even have any showtimes. It says "No Dates" and it's a fairly busy theatre.

Seems like it will be updated close to release as they’re likely still on screen assignment changes from this round of releases, it’s a heavy season so there’s likely to be plenty more closer to the date. Looking at it now, there’s only two showings a day for that entire weekend, which is far from normal.

And you say you posted here since the X2 days? I’m pretty sure you’d know I was a moderator for several years, then. :yay:

I remember when you were a mod here, the only reason I didn’t have as much a presence and my post count isn’t that high here was because there used to be another X-Men centered forum where you were admin and that was my go-to until The Wolverine brought me back here.

Yea I figured as much. Just makes it annoying when booking tickets.

Ironically, wasn't this moved to June from February because Kinberg said they secured more theatres in June...?

And yet....there's still an intensity to it that is lacking in Apocalypse. Magneto floating down in Apocalypse was shot so blandly. Him preventing Apocalypse's attack....was STILL shot bland and corny. Never mind the overacting. Those shots from Apocalypse could still have been shot in a more interesting way regardless of how Magneto is acting. Apocalypse's film look is based off SINGER's....VISION....as the director who make those decisions. Not the scriptwriter who's story is written off three other writers included.

Come on. Stop dragging the two X2 writers into that movie. It was obvious they were only around during the early stages of scripting and that screenplay was from Singer and Kinberg.

Well, using that logic then you acknowledge that Kinberg is entirely responsible for writing the highest rated x-men film in the franchise, Days of Future Past...since story by credits are insignificant.

*On Apocalypse: Singer is credited with story, not screenplay. He doesn't type out the script format. Kinberg is credited with constructing the final physical script that actors will read (screenplay by), along with being one the many contributors to the story*.

The fact that you keep bringing up Dan Harris' and Mike Dougherty's names whenever a criticism is lobbed against Kinberg's X-men: Apocalypse screenplay, says you don't have a valid defense against it and just want everyone else to look at this shiny object.

I'm glad Kinberg has solo writing credits on Dark Phoenix. There won't be excuses then. I mean there will be excuses. There's always excuses for the scripts for these movies. (We've already heard plenty of excuses about this movie and it hasn't even come out yet!) They just would be invalid.

Save it. With your logic, it's not "Kinberg's screenplay" when an x-men film receives the highest rating of the x-men films. You have no problems making excuses there.

Kinberg’s realistic yet highly technical and kinetic action style in these clips is far superior to what has come before and even a few of the MCU films. His competency is already at auteur level because of how confident Fox is in this entertainment product. The review embargo is being lifted soon. Clearly this is an excellent product with amazing production values and superior writing.

We will see how this puzzle plays out. Kinberg is here to only help you understand his singular crisp vision. He is here to be loved and return that love to his legion of fans.

I saw 2 new tv spots tonight. No real new footage but I didn’t catch them entirely.

All the new spots have the “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” audio announcement with the “Dark Phoenix” title.

They should have titled the film as X-Men Dark PhoeniX. I don't know why it was such a good decision for Fox to leave out X-Men in the title especially its gonna feature the cast from X-Men First Class, X-Men Days of Future Past and X-Men Apocalypse. At least, in international territories the title for these four films is consistent.
