Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

Fassbender did an interview with Firstpost where he revealed what the final scene of the movie is. X.x

Some information regarding scenes we WONT see in the film... slight spoilers for those who even care.

Best X-Men: Dark Phoenix deleted scenes revealed by the cast, including a "creepy" Jean Grey moment | GamesRadar+

I guess the Xavier "I don't know what to do!" scene we've seen in the trailer is not in the final film. :(

The quicksilver scene suggest there is an "X-men report" scene before the space mission.

Hopefully that means the Jean class scene is in it, that the only place it could fit in.

Got my tickets for Friday and excited....even though im not expecting it to be good. Lol I’m with this series til the bitter end so im very curious to see how it all pans out.

But damn guys i saw on my ticket this movie is an 1 hr and 53 mins long which means an hour and 43 mins of actual movie time, any way you slice it that is painfully short for this type of story and one thats supposed to be the grand finale. I wanna be optimistic but cannot in any way see this being a satisfying “The End” to 20 years of Xmen movies.

I’m going Thursday night soon as I get off work and I ordered a Dark Phoenix tee from Hot Topic that should be here Tuesday. I loved that scene, honestly JLaw isn’t so bad here. I hope we do get to see them Teaching more before the big space sequence.

This was just a last effort because they know the MCU is about to retcon everything. Kinberg knew this.

Both are gone.

Just wanted to create an account here to thank Icekid for all of the info.

Regarding the clip above, is it explained why Mystique doesn't want to be blue? She almost seems ashamed.

No problem at all!

I don’t remember specifically if a reason was said. I could think of a few reasons but they would all just be my theories.

Basic and likely answer is less time in makeup.

Possible narrative answer (likely not going to be addressed) is she probably doing it in protest to Charles.
All she has ever wanted is to be in her natural form without persecution, and also for Charles to support her in that (he always told her to hide it for her protection).
Now she lives in a world were she can do that but it's superficial. Given that he wants them to "wear matching costumes" I'm sure heprobably "strongly encouraged" her to be in blue form when out on the world with the X-men.
He's not telling her to embrace it because it who she is, he telling her because it puts up a front of "look mutants are good".

Again, it probably less time in makeup.

At the very least, I think the action, special effects and cinematography are shaping up to be pretty awesome. Oh, and the score, too.
Perhaps Kinberg should’ve let someone else write the script he was going to direct then? But Simon fancies himself as a Tarantino.

You can’t store a massive outdoor United Nations sets that required extensive permits to even get there in the first place....

It’s like Game of Thrones production saying “alright time to pack away King’s Landing until next time”. No they destroy it and remake what they need each time on a separate seasons budget.
They can't store big sets but I guess doing eXpensive reshoots that delays a movie is easier.... yeah Good job Kinberg.

Yeah considering recreating the United actions set would have also delayed the movie in addition to being much more expensive.

I thought they already removed the UN scene? so what eXactly do they need to reconstruct for 3 .months? that delays the movie and let it be eaten by other summer movies at the boX office?

They did remove it because they would have needed to shoot on that set to get in the additional characters and new dynamics.

That couldn’t be accomplished as that was the most expensive set piece in the movie and also the most expensive permit, extra work, everything. It was massive. So they needed to plan fight choreography and construct the train and yard sets, which were all indoors.

Raven: "Oof, I'm finally home with my intimate friends. I can finally shapeshift into a young blond woman".

Also, they should seriously consider changing the name of the franchise to X-Whitemen instead.
