I feel like hack is strong. He kind of reminds me of Goyer, in that he has decent to even great ideas. But you need someone else to craft them into reality and put their foot down when necessary. Although it does boggle my mind that he spent so long working on X-Men and seemingly never even did a wiki search on the characters.
Captain Marvel and Endgame are not the issue here. Shazam came out inbetween both and critics liked it plenty.
Because the studio was only going to pay for a certain amount of powers and Rogue would have broke everything.
The cure stuff was dumb, but she wasn't in the battle for the same reason Mystique was taken out. Because of the actors not being available to shoot those scenes. That's not on the writers. What they did with the character in the time they had, of course, IS their fault.
Honestly, this does not read like an endorsement of anything other then lower your expectations and you might have fun. Which is cool, but I don't know what that says about the movie itself.

I agree but also you have to take in account that if this movie is just doing the same thing with the characters over and over again with the focus on Charles/Eric, Raven and Hank in human form, lack of Storm etc it’s just the same repeated mistakes and that’s probably why most of the reviews are like it’s more of the same and it’s just meh.
