LOL nicely done monsieur.

But someone else said on another thread (?) "He looks like Bishop. He must be Bishop."

Aside from the fact that Omar is black, he looks nothing like Bishop!

Well to be fair there aren't too many black male mutants (their are more female ones for some reason). Bishop is the first one people would think about. After listening to him speak, I don't think he will be Bishop.

He may not be playing a Mutant.

I just can't think of where a french speaking character would fit in though. And plus he is black so he won't be working for the Nixon Administration (they had nobody black working for them). Can't see him working for Trask or Lang (or whoever the villain is).

I'm thinking it's none other than Bishop.

And um...why is his French background any more of a concern than those of our European and Australian actors i.e Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender etc. etc.?????

Tough to call with the info we have. Im sure there are roles in the future and past that require non mutant characters.

If hes a mutant I doubt hes playing Bishop though. Wasnt Synch supposed to be in FC? Possibly could be him. They like using less known characters for FC. Angel, Riptide, Azazel, Darwin etc...

I had to look him up didn't know who he was. Now he would fit too, could be a new brotherhood member.

Because with those actors, they could do a proper American accent if the role called for it. With a French actor like Omar who speaks poor English (not my quote, that's a quote from LA Times that I posted) I would think it would be harder to fake an American accent. *I* just can't see Bryan hiring a French actor for Bishop.

That's true. But to be fair, we have a number of actors in this franchise that look nothing like their characters, so that's not necessarily a blocker.

Yeah could be. If Bishop is in this then he would have a large role, and since the actor does seem to have a bit of a problem with English I cant see why they would cast him as that character. Mutant wise a new FC character makes more sense to me. If hes a Mutant, Im goen with Synch just cause he was supposed to be in FC.

It seems a logical deduction though, in a story with time travel and a dystopian future.

And there aren't that many black male characters in the X-Men mythos. One other that came to mind is Bomb from the recent series The First X-Men, but I think they'd be more likely to use Bishop.

Most of the people in the films don't look obviously like their comic book counterparts, except Patrick Stewart.

Yeah not sure if I want to see a Bishop who can barely speak English, so that leaves him being either a French character or a silent character. I could see him being Synch a new brotherhood character.

Well, time will tell. If Bryan can make Storm drop her African accent, I'm sure he can make his interpretation of Bishop pick UP a French one.

I honestly wouldn't mind it. Only foreign character we've had in the series is Nightcrawler... and I guess Juggernaut.

I dunno why, but I really disliked how Ellen Page looked in that movie.

I know I fell for him being Bishop for that reason. Still, I want a good Bishop and if he can't speak English very well then it won't work. Personally, I think Idris Elba would be perfect for Bishop (don't care if he was in Thor).

Jeez, this place is starting to remind me of the TWD threads... "A black male? Well, he MUST be ______!" :funny:

I did the same thing when I posted about Peter Dinklage coming on board for DOFP. Puck!

I've learned since and Bishop was definitely the first name that came to mind, but I just didn't post it in. lol

lol, well I have learned now unless they cast Idris Elba and then I will say Bishop:p

I really wish they would have announced someone else that we know who they were playing.

Putting Bishop In film hurts film. What's the point of using Bishop If not as Time traveler.
And Bishop as Time Traveler eliminates any chance of crossover between OT and First
Class casts. And then Introducing a major new character In future scenes also takes
time away from focus of OT cast especilly since reports say majority of film takes place
In 1973.At most you might only get 30 minutes In future.

Bishop If he remains a shoot first ask questions later type also could create problems In
1973 America for mutants.

The future scenes will likely be mutants and sentinles. And I doudt you will have any human characters In Nixon Administration who are black.

Omar could be playing a character like Synch as member of X-Men or Brotherhood(More likely X-Men)

I doudt Bryan will use twitter to announce cameos. So even If Gateway Is one who
causes time travel, which I hope Isn't the case,I doudt Omar Is playing him.

Doubtful. Bryan would not waste a tweet on this announcement if this actor wasn't playing a significant role.

I dont know, theres alot of silent characters or ones who have lil speaking in his films as well. Deathsrike, Sabertooth, Toad....Cyclops :csad:
