Just curious, in which scenes did you think Anna overacted as Rogue?

I don't really want to make this a complaint topic, so I just quickly site a few gripes. For the most part she was good in X1 except for a few moments (for example, I didn't like her hysterics/panic after the kiss) and she was just kind of awkward in X2 (the face she made when the guy creeps on her in the museum, the seat belt scene, her reaction after flying the jet... those all struck me as bad overacting).

Same here. I'm not trying to criticize Halle Berry because she's a big star or anything. In general I think she's a wonderful actress, but I just don't like her Storm. Maybe it's because Storm is my favorite X-Man and I want to see the movies do her justice, but I wasn't pleased with Halle's Storm so far. Same with Anna as Rogue. People say she has a lot of potential to be an amazing Rogue given her performance in True Blood or something, but so far I'm not convinced and I don't like her Rogue at all. Although I have to admit, I'm kinda happy to see both of them return in their roles, it has certain nostalgic value to it.

I couldn't agree with you more on ALL accounts here. It's a bittersweet thing for me too. Happy to see Storm and Halle in this, but skurred it's going to be another fail.

With two more weeks till the start of production, I wish Singer would stop teasing us already and announce the remaining cast members.

This is really my most anticipated film for 2014.

The thing is, we don't know what they have in store for Rogue in this one, given that she did almost nothing in X3 and finally gave up on her powers like a ***** at the end. Singer does indeed have some clean-up to do.

No surprise, given the lack of an announcement, but it's sad to dump a character. That likely means no Havok.

Yeah, WTF. They really need to work on developing characters for more then one film. They are wasting alot of potential.

really dissapointed with this decision. Such a cool and fresh character on FC with cool visuals dropped just after the first movie. Great move, Fox, Singer and co.

No! they should drop Havok, the guy was the most boring character in First Class with not even visually appealing powers, (We'd already seen his powers with Cyclops)

Banshee though was cool fresh and heck they need a flyer on the 70's team. This is so disappointing.

Come on. Why waste another great X-men? Havok is an awesome character and they havnt done **** with him yet. To waste Havok like they have done a majority of characters is BS. We havnt even gotten to the relationship with his brother or Lorna. IN the long run he is a much more important character then Banshee imo. Neither should be wasted with no development in just one film though. Same with Emma.

What a joke. Some X-Men team Charles put together there. After 11 years its just Beast? I hope Singer doesn't saddle us with new faces just to replace the FC characters. That would be a completely pointless redundancy.

I guess the silver lining to this is that the movie will have more time to focus on the characters that matter, as Days of Future Past is most likely setting the stage for something else that doesn't require the further development of Banshee, Havok, etc.

I'm just sick of characters being dropped, underdeveloped, and picked only for powers. We will probably get a new 70s team that will never be shown again. Which is why I'm glad Psylocke or Polaris have not been added, cause this would be their only film more then likely. Hope they leave the more well known X-Men out of that decade.

Probably true but it's still sad. I don't think any of the xmovies have carried characters from one into the other apart from the core x-men (wolvie, storm, cykes, jean prof x, iceman, kitty and Rogue) and the core brotherhood (Magneto, Mystique, Pyro) They've dropped everyone else

And now they're doing it with first class with only the core xmen and brotherhood returning so far. they've already dropped the Hellfire club and now banshee and most likely havok

What really? My guess is that a few X-Men from the future will join up the First Class team in the 70s. They might even introduce new 70s X-Men, but it was not needed if you would have kept Banshee and Havok. Havok is still unknown if he will take part, but I doubt it, he would have been announced by now me thinks. Hey at least we have seen a fairly decent Banshee in the X-Men film world, his power scenes were really cool in First Class.

Also its been clear that these First Class movies focus on Magneto and Professor X the most, so in a way as long as young Magneto and young Professor X develop more, then the film makes sense.
