Days of Future Past X-men First Class Sequels?

What should come next?

  • Nothing, it should lead into X1

  • Continue with McAvoy finding Jean, Scott etc

  • Continue but with the cast of characters they have now

  • It shouldn't continue at all, I won't like it >:(

I'd love to see Magneto's twins - Erik trying to recruit his kids and them being conflicted because they long for a father, but also feel used by a man who's chosen his persuit of vengeance over them.

Would have been cool if they hinted at his kids in FC. Seems like they missed an easy set up for them. Then again they would probably be too young to do anything with so far. Im probably in the minority with this but if they ever did Genosha and had Magneto residing there, I always thought that would be the best way to introduce Wanda, Pietro and Lorna on film. Since Wanda and Lorna kinda dress like Sci Fi royality, always thought a Princesses of Genosha type thing would suite them the best. I would like to see a House Of M/Wolverine and The X Men hybrid of that. Hope if they do put in Lorna or Wanda they stick true to their looks. I have a feeling they wouldnt. But hey they got Emma right, whos to say they wouldnt do the same for them.

Because I've never heard of blue eyes naturally occurring on a black person. I'm pretty certain the gene for brown eyes is dominant over all other eye color genes. She would have two parents, both with brown eyes... naturally, she would have brown eyes, too. But Storm has blue eyes and white hair, niether of which would be genetically natural. I can see how blue eyes - while common among white people - would concern her parents. It's the same concept as yellow (Nightcrawler, Mystique) and red (Gambit, Sinister) eyes; they're part of her mutation.
Vanessa L. Williams?

Also Google african children with blue eyes. It's not as uncommon as you'd think. Blue eyes is merely a recessive trait that can appear in people no matter what there parents eye color is.

I respect your idea, but I don't think I'm on the same page regarding Genosha. It could work as possibly a secret haven for muties, but I see Magneto being more violently active considering the end of FC is the beginning of "the war". I personally would prefer to keep Lorna out of it and just focus on the twins. Either way, things are going to have to happen in the Brotherhood. The current roster is Magneto, Mystique, Emma, Azazel, Angel and Riptide. I foresee conflict with Mystique and Magneto - if not her leaving because she's pregnant, possibly just leaving because Erik gives much of his attention to Emma. Raven's still naive and is "out" as a mutant with a gang of hell-bent mutants, and that's completely different from the life she previously had. There's a lot of places they could go with her. But the group is sizable as is - they need to get rid of a few if they're going to add anymore. I've already said I think Riptide and Angel are expendable, but Mystique, Emma and Azazel are must-haves. If they're going to add another character to the Bros, it's going to be a character (or characters) that serve a purpose to the story. And the twins could easily do that.

You're spot-on about them getting Emma's look right. I also think they did the X-suits perfectly. And, while I'm not the biggest fan of Magneto's final look, I do think it adequately serves as both a faithful adaptation of classic comic Magneto as well as a precursor to Magneto's getup in the original films. They even gave Riptide a purple suit, haha. I'm sure they'll do justice with any characters introduced. Vaughn has no problems with color. And having these films take place in the sixties gives them some major leeway to come up with some accurate-but-sensible looks for our favorite mutants.

You learn something new everyday! I hope no racism was implied by my post. I like to pick things apart, especially Easter eggs like these. Just like the arguably-Cyclops cameo where I mentioned his shirt. It's primarily blue with a couple stripes of yellow - similar to the X-suits - and the red stripes representing his optic blasts. I could be looking into these things too much, but that's what I do with films I love. I'm 100% sure that's Storm, though I doubt anyone would argue that. :o

Storm was not having her eyes examined in Cerebro, she was standing writing in a diary. Just sayin.

I'm just going off of memory from a one-second scene. She was being seen by some doctor or whatever. :o

Agreed, my post on Genosha would be a film way down the line beyond the FC series and one that would probably never happen. I just cant see them introducing his kids unless hes been MIA for awhile. Magneto should be creating quite a bit of havok in FC2 for the humans.

Yeah The Bortherhood is stacked on members and is a powerhouse. I can see them maybe adding another villain if they needed a contrast for a new X Men. Otherwise I say levae it alone, they are powerful enough as is. I would like to see a few new students fro the X men to even the odds.

Id like to see Magnetos look improved. His outfit looked a bit cheap. The helmet looks near perfect though. I had way less complaints on the looks of characters in FC then the previous X films. So far so good.

Oh none taken. It's all good.

Agreed. There's no doubt about it that's Storm.

No, she wasn't. At all. A simple google search shows how wrong that is.

Um, nothing to get upset about there, killer. I don't really have access to the film or that scene at the moment. I watched it a couple weekends ago. So, yeah, again I was going off memory. Someone was being seen by a doctor, though. The young, tan girl with a ponytail. Did I get it right this time? Golly gee, I hope so.

in the sequel I would like to see Xavier deal w/being paralyzed (because he can't fully help his team out on the battlefield), the growing anit-mutant hysteria, and he feels some what responsible for help creating Magneto.

the plot should be similar to s1 of TAS cartoon, mutants have been exposed and the gov. is taking full action against them, intro. the mutant registration act, the Brotherhood are tryng to start the war and Xavier trying to rebuild his X-Men(hopefully 1 or 2 team members), i would like to see a battle in Washington (ala what was planned for X3 when Vaughn was attached), but the climax of the film should lead to both the X-men & Bro'hood losing a teammate/or people leave...if Azazel is killed maybe that's why Mystique becomes who she is in the future films(i don't see a Kurt plot, to much time), basically I would like to see how the Bro'hood started off so strong, but broken by the end of the film.

the 3rd film I would like to see a mutant threat that threatens Magneto and his plans for mutant supremacy, Apocalyspe would be cool, i don't think his whole backstory needs to be explained to the ga, only his manicur that the strong should survive, maybe he seeks out the bro'hood and they sort of become his horsemen...hopefully Storm can be introduced

^Mutants being exposed so soon wouldn't match the continuity of the other X-Films. In X1 public awareness for the existance of mutants had only just began.

I agree that it should go as you say, which is why i would hope that they would find a way to ingnore the continuity of the other X-Films ala a time travelling event caused by Bishop that would slighty alter the events after FC ala Abrams Star Trek re-boot.

It seems that as of now we are to accept the same continuity which is why the young Magneto bending the fence scene was included.

^ no I disagree if you re-watch X1 and X2 the public are very aware of mutants hence when Storm mentions the mutant registration act ala X2, so the gov. exposed them at one point and that act was passed and abolished.

i think people are mis-interpreting that senate scene w/Jean and Sen. Kelly as the gov. really becoming aware of mutants, if that's the case then kelly wouldn't been arguing his point, so hard. I believe in the sequel we will def. see the publics view on mutants...

I disagree. Remember when Wolverine is in the bar watching tv? The news reporter speaks of the 'Mutant phenomonon sweeping the world'. At that point the existence of mutants was just becoming known to the public.

I was actually underwhelmed by XMFCs interpretation of the Hellfire Club in general. What we saw was the Sebastian Shaw show comprised of subservient mutant henchmen (and woman). The Shaw lead Inner Circle from the comics were the most powerful and influential mutants (and cyborg) on the planet in a clandestine union brought together to influence the mutant's place in the global hierarchy. Shaw was the Black King but Emma was more of his equal. I'm not sure that J.Jones has the acting chops to portray a fully realized White Queen.

or it could it be that more and more mutants were popping up and maybe scientist predicts their would be more mutants to human ratio...honestly trying to figure out continuity w/in this franchise is a headache we have to let the prequels run their course & 4get about X1-X3

She definitely didn't show much potential in First Class. Maybe she just didn't get her shot in that particularly script and story, but chances of her becoming a more dominant character are diminished somewhat by her being recruited by Magneto.

Maybe it would be better to allow her to front her own team, but again Jones hasn't struck me as charismatic enough to hold that role. Weaver on the other hand... I'd have had no concerns about her screen presence (must.stop.dwelling)

It could be argued that it was at that point becoming a global issue, hence the Senate hearing and attempt to pass a registration act. But people may have known about the existence of mutants for a long time before.

All that X1 shows us prior to that Senate hearing is Magneto's powers emerging in 1944 and then Rogue's powers emerging decades later, just a few months before the time of the film. It's intriguing to wonder what event or incident might have triggered the need for a registration act and a Senate hearing and this is something the First Class franchise could explore and portray.

I, too, believe that we didn't get much of a Hellfire Club. It felt like the equivalent of showing that SHIELD consists solely of Fury, Widow, Hawkeye and Coulson.

The potential of the Hellfire Club and its machinations were somewhat squandered.

The Emma Frost we have at present is not commanding enough for a White Queen, and Jones wouldn't be right for trying to play her in that role.

Maybe we'll see more of the Hellfire Club in the sequel, with Emma leading it as the White Queen.

This movie could take place a couple of years from the event in XFC. People change, so I dont see why Emma can't be tough and move on to form her own group and follow her own principles. Even though she can't control Erik, but don't forget that she can control everyone else around him, so he could still be hurt because of her.

It's possible Emma might have a stronger role in the sequel but I don't know if J.Jones is the actress that can pull that off. She does hot and *****y okay but Emma was a mastermind easily on par with SS, Magneto or Selene. Charlize would have been perfect for the role. However, again they need to figure out a better way to feature psychic powers to give Emma and Charles something more to do.

Jones is just fine for Emma. She wasn't my first choice for the role, but I know she can pull off the cold and calculating Emma from the comics should the script incorporate that.
