Here's my pick for Iceman!

Someone mentioned Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Cyclops earlier, and i think he'd be a great choice. The rest I need to think about.

Back when X-Men Origins: Magneto was a possibility, someone suggested Daniel Craig as a young Magneto. I think that could work.

Lets look at this from a point of perspective, now there isnt supposed to be any enthusis on how old each character is, However i did create a spreadsheet that through information given by the movies, the actors that portray the characters and other factors as in when each part of the movie took place i was able to calculate the ages of each character to a given year...

So lets take a year for example... Now im gonna go with 1992 for two reasons 1, its a logical year that xavier first established the x-men team, not the year the school was open or the year that the pupils first attented. The reason i take 1992 is because one of the central characters Cyclops... would of been aged 19 at the time... Now as i said that information was taken from info got from the movies or the actors portraying them. So here is a list of the front running characters and what ages they would be if this movie took place in 1992...

Now Patrick Stewart could easily still play a 50 year old Xavier even though he is touching 70 de-aging, he could still easily pull of 50, Magneto would be a little more difficult but still do-able.

one of the big problems we have is Marvel Girl and Beasts ages... see Beast would of had to have been 37 when the others were only in there teens as he plays a near 50's beasts in the last stand movie. Now what has made Jean Grey older than she should be is because Jean Grey in x-men last stand had a larger age gap think it was something like 30 years ago, now from that point if the movie was set in 1992 that would of made Jean Grey 27 and cyclops 19, so i think that needs to be overlooked for the movie.

Interesting. Could work. Great actor, British and a big name. I think that last part is fairly important since you can't really replace Patrick Stewart with a nobody.

Of course, he'd also make a good Magneto, but I think it would be nice to see him play a good guy in a movie like this.

He wouldn't be my pick for Magneto, but if it came between that or Xavier, it would definitely be the former. I think Fiennes is such a different kind of actor than McKellan that it would be kind of hard for me to connect the two as portraying the same character.

Is this a joke? Why would they use this guy when Shawn Ashmore is only a few years older. Also Iceman was cast much younger then the other Xmen in the previous films. I don't see how even using Iceman is an option.

After watching Kick-Ass again last night (such a good movie!) I really want to see Mark Strong as Xavier. I know he's known for playing a bad guy, but he's a great actor. And he looks a lot like Stewart.

I watched Stardust last night and was thinking the same. He's filming Green Lantern and John Carter of Mars at the moment, so hopefully he'll be free in July/August.

If Daniel Craig and Mark Strong were cast as Magneto and Professor X respectively my interest in this would go up tenfold. Both have worked with Matthew Vaughn before too but unfortunately it looks like they will be busy filming other projects this year. I guess that's what happens when you announce a movie and then start filming it within a couple of months, it gives you no time to lock in the best actors possible before their schedules fill up.
