While the DOFP designs is indeed a massive upgrade over the X3 design, the problem I still have with both, is that they look like the T-1000.

I'm still amazed how well the effects from X2 hold up. They really managed to make him look and feel real, and not like an obvious CGI. Of course you know he is. But there's something about X2 Colossus, he feels so tangible.

I think he looks great. As The Guard pointed out I think the lighting does have an effect on how he looks, X2 had that dark bluish tint to it, from the soldiers torches in the mansion scene, the Danger Room in X3 was very dark with barely any light and then on Alcatraz there were bright lights shining on him. I think he looks great metalled up in all 3 movies.

I would like to think it's an evolution, but in X3 the crew simply botched the X2 design. And probably in order to get away from everything that was X3, they just completely revamped Colossus in DOFP.

Pretty much. Never really noticed it in X3, but side-by-side you can see how much of a step down it was. This clip from DOFP looks incredible.

Don't know why he was so much blue in X2. He's metal, it should be colors of lights/things around him, maybe the room he was inside had cold blue light in X2.

I agree about the blue thing though I don't think the room he was inside had a cold blue light.

To be frank, X2 in it's entirety had a cold blue/grey hue to the picture. It's very apparent in all the marketing. So I can see why Colossus had that blue tinge. I like it a lot! His DOFP is a close second, it might look better in outdoor temple scenes, which also have that same cold/blue tinge to it..

Yes. X2 (X1 pretty much too) got that cold blue going on. Just like FC went with that...hngh, language barriers! I'll just call it orange. I don't know what I'm tired of more, the orange or green (Greengrass' Bourne sequels) palettes. Probably the green. I hate it like a kid hates vegetables.

They can put Illyana into the future movies but she can't have magic abilities.
Rights for Magic abilities belong to Marvel.

Well marvel Isn't really using magic In their films eather.They are turing into advanced science.

If they want to put Illyania Into future films I am sure they can use her abilitys.

I don't think we'll get 'magic' per se in the X-Men movies. It will always be shown as a mutant power to affect the environment in some way, either macroscopically or microscopically.

Or maybe an alien science if they ever introduce the more cosmic aspects like Shi'ar.

Yeah within the X-men movies there is an air of realism as opposed to the avengers/Marvel cinematic verse. All of the mutants powers can be scientifically explained. So like even if Wanda somehow shows up in this film series,her powers won't be described as hex bolts or chaos magic,it will be explained as affecting probability some type of way through mater manipulation. blah blah, yada yada etc

Illyana though has a very versatile power set . She can create teleporting step disc,and her soul sword.....So who knows how that woud come into play.Hopefully with Apoc coming into play we will get more out of this world explorations,such as celestials, Shi'ar , Starjammers etc

Because they're using the X3 Colossus design unfortunately and his hair was silver

Yes, she would somehow be able to alter particle behaviour to create unlikely events, or something like that. It would be good if she and others referred to it as a hex, or putting a hex on something, though.

I feel like we've covered most bases with teleportation, except for going into another dimension as Illyana does. That and the 'soul-sword' are maybe a bit far out, though. Unless Illyana's Limbo becomes a possible plot point.

Super stoked, like super soaker type levels that Colossus is being shown more love; however, the effects still look like X3... and X3 Colossus looked like giant turd burgers.

Not trying to hate because this trailer actually has me drooling about this movie again. I just hope they finally nail this character because he deserves better.

This reminds me of all the times posting in the Colossus threads pre-X3. Double .

I hope Colossus will get more screentime in DOFP; I don't think he spoke more than a couple of lines in the previous movies.
