Xbox One Games: The Real Meat Around The Bone

Yea I'm predownloading the hell outta that game the sec it goes live.

Honestly, I don't think I'd care if Xbox got rid of exclusives and started sharing ALL of it's first party content with Windows 10. It seems to be where they're headed with wanting Windows/Xbox gamers to play across all devices. Everyone says the real money is in the software anyway so why not lessen the importance of the hardware and focus on the ecosystem?

I'd be cool with that too. I think I'll be getting everything for Windows 10 at some stage in the future althought that crossbuy feature (with X1) would be ideal if anyone utilises it.

Borderlands: The Handsom Collection is now up for digital preorder on the store. Playable at 12:01 am EST on the 24th.

Bioshock Infinite on GwG now.

Yes. Easily.

Most Madden fans I know only play Madden because that's legit all there is to play football wise (not counting NCAA) and I know a LOT of guys that have been wishing for a non Madden football game for a long while.

If this has all the NFL teams (it will due to it being an exclusive) I'd wager that this would even sell systems. If the game is good of course.

Edit* A failure on my part.

Can anything compete with Madden?

Yea id second what Bensta said, Madden isn't quite the juggernaut it once was, due to years and years of sub par quality(altho to EA's credit, the quality has started to rise). IF 2K ever gets the chance to make another football game, it'll be HUGE just due to the amount of people wanting to check out the new game in town, not counting the droves of NFL 2K fans that have been forced to play Madden for their NFL sim fix.

That doesnt say anything about the NFL. If thats legit, it would be similar to All Pro Football 2K8 which was a commercial failure, much like any other non, NFL football title would be.

Uh,

From the article you quoted said:
- The game is called Joe Montana NFL Football 16. This is an NFL game. First-party stipulations that the NFL has always left open & the NFL’s exclusive relationship with Microsoft allows for Microsoft to have an NFL game. Microsoft Studios is the publisher. Microsoft is deadly serious about gaining ground and winning the console war (doubtful to happen at this point though) and throwing tons of money at incubation and trying to buy new IP that they can turn into big series’ titles is top priority for them right now. They believe this game can be many times bigger than MLB The Show due to the larger NFL fanbase, and because so many XBOX One owners identify as serious NFL fans.

Haha oops, my bad. Thats what i get for combining past knowledge of the situation without reading the new info

Iv known for some time Joe Montanna was working on a video game, but at the time it was assumed it was going to be a non NFL title.

I see. Could be very interesting then. So can they both get licensed to have all teams in their game. Seems much more complicated in soccer.

Theoretically. I mean it all comes down to the language in the contract that EA has with the NFL. It's entirely plausible that EA only has exclusive rights to the NFL and NFLPA when it pertains to MULTIplatform titles. I mean there are other NFL licensed titles out there, I beleive for mobile and web.

and it's releasing this year? this could be huge.

If it's a real, NFL sim, the likes of an NFL 2K it will be massive. 2Ks return to the NFL is prob the most desired situation in all of sports gaming. The X1 is rapidly becoming THE console for sports gamers(with EAs access program). Even without an MLB title, an exclusive NFL game would be a titanic grab, as mentioned in that article U posted, the NFL is much more popular commercially than MLB.

I'm still taking all of this with a huge grain of salt. I know the article stated why, but the fact it claims this game will be releasing in June with absolutely no word on it now is a huge eyebrow raiser.

This is the type of announcement, if a true NFL sim, that "wins" MS E3(with sports gamers anyway). A return of NFL 2K, even under a different name, is megaton within that community.

I heard about this football game but I didn't care much to look into it coz I don't care about football however - an exclusive football game on the xbone here in america is a certain system seller.

the article stated june? i'm expecting q4 honestly.

July, I misspoke. The anonymous "insider" claimed mid to late July.

That's pretty much exactly what it says in the article.

word, so summertime but that's still much earlier than i'd expect. well maybe not much earlier - aren't sports games typically released q3?

EDIT: july is q3, so this actually is plausible.
