Apocalypse Young Cyclops/Jean/Storm? Casting Ideas - Part 1

I dont what to be judgmental but if those are the choice for storm, than im not holding out hope that its going to be an important or well-fleshed out character. This is based on what i have seen from those two actresses portfolio. Directors do count for alot but in the case of Alexandra Shipp, she was also terrible in that Vh1 Drumline sequel. It's sad because Storm is my favorite character and she has not been given her proper due in film.

Hopefully, its just a publicist thing. Sometimes actors' publicists purposely put out news tidbits about their client testing for roles even though they arent anywhere near close to signing.

Yeah, I don't care for either of them as Storm. I hope they find a darker skinned actress(hopefully African). J-Law looks nothing like Rebecca's Mystique. No one cares if she looks like a younger Halle.

OMG! Sophie Turner in consideration? Dreams do come true! I really hope she gets it because I think she'd be absolutely perfect for the role. As far as a the choices for Cykes, I like Egerton and Blackley but once again I'd be fine with any one of those choices.

As far as Storm - sigh. I like Zendaya and I think she's a very talented young actress but I just don't think she's the right choice for Storm. Both choices have once again brought up the whole light-skinned vs. dark-skinned actress thing across the internet so. I'm hoping we have some other choices that come out later on otherwise it may get ugly soon. lol

I don't think they'll be giving Storm much to do here. Singer isn't really fond of the character. She was just there as eye candy and fanboy service in his films. I think Jean will be the central figure here and Cyke will play sidekick. The movie will still be carried by the FC. You also have to wonder who shows up on team Magneto unless he is paired off with the X-Men from the beginning. They want QS back, but will SW be joining them?

You just listed a bunch of action scenes. A bit more character would be nice.

If you're talking about a better written character then I agree. But to say she never did anything meaningful is just ludicrous.

If I think of Zendaya I automatically think mousey and the fact she is just coming out of Disney is something that the general fandom will pick up on again. She will be hated from the outset. I at this point would prefer a no name actress that at least looks imposing. Naomi Campbell levels in a young actress.. Im not asking much hahaha

She's not completely done with Disney yet, she has a new tv show premiering this year.

Funny because the reason I like Zendaya is because I think she'd the OPPOSITE of mousy.

When I think of both Berry and Alex Ship, I think safe, inoffensive, and soft. I've always gotten the opposite from 'Daya. She has an edge to her.

Where actors come from doesn't matter at all as long as they are cast for the right reason and not being forced fed to a younger demo.

I think Turner looks like Janssen in the first one and at times at the second one. I do agree that looking like the previous actors should be low on the totem pole in terms of casting.
