The Dark Knight Rises Young Ra's Al Ghul - Does it mean flashback, or something else?

I know, I was saying that to highlight the difference between it and the LOS gasmask. I was describing looks, not function. I wasn't saying it was an actual muzzle - that would be kinda stupid.

Or brilliant, as Batman hates getting bit. :oldrazz:

Alfred: Did you get mauled by a tiger?
Bruce: It was Bane.
Alfred: ....
Bruce: It was a BIG Bane.
Imagine if this whole time if Bane's mask in that picture was a new Batman muzzle he could deploy to prevent being mauled again.

I personally like the idea of a Ra's/Bane connection but am not committed to it or expecting it. I am curious What are you're reasons for being content with the disconnect?

Because Bane building himself up from literally nothing while in prison his entire life to be the man who broke Batman is light years better than Ra's showing up and training Bane.

It is a strong choice, and I wouldn't mind it one bit if Ra's wasn't in the movie and they went that direction.

I personally like the idea of Bane being in prison and training/surviving most of his life and being found by Ra's and trained. It parallels and counters Bruce's journey of training his whole life to be found in prison by Ra's. It bookends the franchise neatly and allows Batman to conquer his greatest enemy, the anti-thesis of himself.

Doctor Jones...WHY?!

Did we not all see BB, Ra's is THE character that defines Bruce in the present time. He made Bruce into the man he is.

I said this before he is like Bruce's second father and I have a great belief this film is going to be about which Father Bruce is going to decide to be the son of.

The Man who gave him virtuosity or

The Man who gave him the means to fight injustice?

So it's no surprise to me that a film that features a character who is going to try to convince Bruce to be more philanthropic like his father (Tate) also would include the character who saw Bruce's father as someone weak and urged Bruce to do everything that was necessary to go the distance that his father didn't.

Because a few comics feature Bane and Ra's in the same storyline doesn't mean there isn't another option to have a character that is (so far) STRICTLY a Bruce character be about Bruce.

I'm not saying that he won't have anything to do with Bane, or that he won't have a lot to do with Bane but, this assumption that it can be nothing else always shocks me as Batman Begins is so STRONG in it's implications of Bruce's parts and then Bruce's training.

The Dark Knight Rises

What does that mean? Bruce has run from his League of Shadows heritage because of the fear toxin disaster and TDK showed us (by not showing us) That his parents murder's have taken a side bar to his having to use Wayne tech to make Batman stronger, faster, smarter.

He has to marry those ideas; he has to bring back his Parent's death to continue with his virtue and confront his issue with Ra's and the league of Shadows to remember why he joined them in the first place, what they taught him directly and what they taught him via his confrontation with them.

i was thinking about Ra's al Ghul. hear me out.

what if Bruce when he goes to India for rehabilitationn finds Ra's al Ghul...................who is on a wheelchair. of course because of the train in BB. what if we find out that Bane and Thalia are doing this on their own without him.
what if Ra's al Ghul helps Bruce to heal his body and train for Bane. and so the ''father'' trains the ''son'' :oldrazz:

this would give them a reason to bring back Liam Neeson and have some good acting with Bale and Neeson. :awesome:

i know crazy. very crazy :woot:

not crazy just pointless. after the harsh things Ra's said about the Waynes i doubt Bruce would feel any kind of fatherly-esque relations for Ra's
that and Ra's is dead. the end.

I don't think Talia and Bane would be off on their own, working without the approval of Ra's... well, Talia at least. But I sure would love to see Ra's finally come to respect what Bruce stands for, just as he does in the comics. If he did, then while he wouldn't help Bruce to get healed, just because Bruce is anti-LOS, he wouldn't stop him either. Maybe he'd be curious to see if Bruce is able to stop LOS from destroying Gotham, again. If LOS is indeed a check against corruption, and Batman is inherently anti-corruption, both Ra's and Batman should eventually find themselves on the same side.

Ra's is dead.

It's already been confirmed that he's showing up for a cameo like scene or two 30 years in the past.

Did you see him die? Or did you just leave him for dead?:cwink:

It's CONFIRMED they're set in the past? Where did that info come from?

yes he is playing the young Ra's. but Neeson could still have some scenes

Yeah, probably as flashbacks to the early passed.

We're not seeing a magical pool that brings people back from the dead.

My mistake - kinda. I know about the young Ra's scenes, but there is no confirmation as to when Neeson's scene is set, is there?

But what about that rumor we heard about Liam being spotted on set a while back?

There is none. The article you're referring to cites an inside source as to what role he might play.

There has been no official word on the plot, much less any context of scenes.

"Sources say Pence will appear in scenes that take place 30 years prior to the present story."

Yes, and since that's all we have to go on, that's all we can glean info from.

So for now? It might as well be true.
