Pitch in your ideas; I'd like to know your inputs on how Lex and Lois could not know CK's other identity when he finally becomes Supes. This may belong to the speculations thread but I thought this issue deserve a thread of it's own. Season 7 could be the last, depends on the ratings. Hey, you never know, SV writers may read your creativity and and say ''Hey, that's a good idea" and use that. :cwink:

So what do you think? Memory wipes, or just plain old ''suspension of belief'', with CK just putting on some glasses and tadda, he's unrecognizable as Supes. :woot:

Well, I think the vaguely explained Lois' perspective a long time ago, when she said that people have secrets, even the people one cares about. And that as a 'good friend', one should allow those people to reveal the secret to them when they are ready. Which I think boils down to this: She knows, but she keeps the secret, until CK is ready to tell her that he is superman etc.

As for Lex, who knows. But we do know that Lex should have some severe memory problems, seeing that his brain has been toyed with so many times.

what if it's like birthright, he leaves Smallville and everything about it but, he goes to Summerhalt to wipe his memory of ever being there.

^ Who, Lex or Clark, why would he do that? There's must be a compelling reason why. Sorry, not read Birthright yet.

....What comic did this come from -- Supes vibrates his face when he's Clark? You think that could work?

Unless there is a memory wipe I don't see anything else working. Lois knowing but keeping the secret would make no sense given she is supposed to be in love with Superman and have only freindly affection for Clark.

I thought even with memory wipes, Supes and CK can be figured out that they're one and the same. Daily Planet workers can just compare their pics like Lois did in the Donner cut SM2. So like it or not there will be some ''suspension of belief'', since after all, SV is based on comics. lol... but hey don't let that stop you from contributing your creative brains here. :)

Doesn't SUperman have SUper hypnotism?

With Lex they should go the Birthright route. He leaves SV vowing to never returned it and never aknowledging he ever been there. He even goes so far as to instill fear in SV population so they never even mention his stay there. When face to face with Clark Kent he pretend he doesn't know him.
I think it's alot better than forgetting everything or even having the same old thing about the glasses making Clark look like a different person which is always something I never bought at face value and one of the weaknesses of the story...
I think Lois shouldn't forget either. It will make for a much more interesting take on the story.

Supes holding a pendant and doing his hypnotic power on Lois: I am not Superman, I am not Superman, I am not Superman, I am not Superman, I am not Superman...lol...sorry couldn't help it.

Hmmm, maybe that could work, someone staring at CK and suspecting he's Supes and CK looking back at that person and make that person go away and forget that moment...like a jedi would do. :)

Oh, so that's what happened in Birthright, thank you for spoiling it. :woot: ...Just kidding. I think this could work. But what about Lois? Yeah, that glasses thing is a bummer, but what can a writer do? :csad: I guess the best thing to hide his other identity is making CK wear thick glasses or something like in Superman Returns, also with his hair down when he's CK and brushed up when he's Supes.

And if someone's staring at him when he's CK, he could just react like "What the hell are you looking at?" (A bad-ass nerdy looking guy. :woot: ) ...Since that reaction would be out of character for a superhero, the person looking would just walk away. :oldrazz: :woot:

Nah, I think that Birthright thing could work.

Simple just like Martha tells him in Lois and Clark

Nobody will be looking at your face, they don't call them tights for nothing

I forgot to add that Lex knowing he's Superman makes for a much more interesting story. Imagine the anger to know that this big secret was within his reach but his friend never confided in him. After thinking about it Lex in a twisted way wants to show Clark that he's nothing like him and that Clark is the villain not him, so he never exposes the truth in a kind of sick way of honoring their past friendship. He will prefer to humiliate "the alien".
As for Lois it will also make for more interesting stuff. We all know she's in some way atracted to Clark but she will NEVER admit to being interested in that farmboy, but when he's in his more confident super-hero persona and with a slightly different look it will provide her a way of showing her affection for Clark in a way that doesn't make her vulnerable, while still being able to bring down his farm boy persona with her wise cracks and telling him she will only have feeling for the ...other guy...

^Your idea for Lex reminds me somewhat of Harry in SM3. :) Hmmm, I don't know, they know he's Supes? Not what I'd like to see at the conclusion of SV, but hey, maybe in an episode or two at the final season and then they got a memory wipe. :)

doesn't he spend something, like 10-15 years going through his superman training at the fortress?
(maybe if they do show him in the last epsiode as superman, they will give him some make up to look older and more mature, so, he looks alil different, and to show how long he was gone)

after being away that long, not only will most people forget, or have only a faint memory of what he looked like back then, but, his looks will have also matured and changed enough, so, when he reintroduces him self to the people he once knew (i.e. Lois, Jimmy,…) they will get use to his new look (his fake Clark look) with glasses (that hide his face alil), a cheap looking hair cut (that makes him look dorky), and loose fitted, out of date, suits (that hides his body)
when he is first seem as a fully matured superman (without being hidden behind glass, and with a different hair style, and a tight fitted suit) he will not look the same

As for Lex, i think he too wouldn’t recognizes him, after so, long
also he would of probably repressed most of the members of his younger years (cause, will, the guys got issues) he would of wanted to wipe him self of every thing, that had to do with smallville, (he might even go, the remember wipe route, as some have mentioned)

i dont think this subject will ever be touched on in smallville

Agreed.

Plus they'll have to explain why Jimmy doesnt see it too.

If Kara Kent eventually becomes Supergirl; that will make things even more convoluted since everyone will probably know in season 7 that shes Clark's cousin.

Theres no way Clark could realistically think of pair of glasses with conceal his identity at this point after getting to know Lex, Lois and Jimmy so closely without them.

All those knocks to the head have got to effect memory.

"i dont think this subject will ever be touched on in smallville" -- Maybe, maybe not. I just believe with the way M and G created SV, they will tackle this matter. Heck, it's in its 7th season, many didn't expect this. And when SV reaches it's conclusion, I think they will have their own take on this subject just like Singer had his take on Superman Returns -- not exactly about the dual identity but Singer wanted SR to be his take on the mythology with some homage to the Superman Donner movies.

Anyway, it wouldn't hurt if M and G would create their own idea to this matter. Like I said, SV will be on it's 7th season, they'd probably have an idea right now. I for one wouldn't like it if they would just leave it hanging. Imagine at the ending CK would just show himself donning the suit and ok, show's over, that's it pack your bags, the fat lady has sung -- that would suck.

Yes, this SV, about CK's younger years before he became the Man of Steel but you'll know judging by the characters and stories that they've gone beyond that. Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, even Perry White, hey, CK shouldn't know these 3 yet before he's Supes, right? So what's the harm in tackling this subject? I SAY SMALLVILLE SHOULD GO FOR IT. :)

Speaking of this subject that may not be touched, how about these subjects that were touched:

1.The Fortress

2.CK met the future leaguers

3.CK sets foot inside the Daily Planet

4.CK battles Zod

5.The arrival of Kara and other stuff I can't remember

My point is, the subject I laid upon can very much happen on the show. Anyway, just lay your idea regarding the thread here, you never know, they may read yours and use it. :cwink:

I have to disagree with you... I don't think Lex would honor their friendship even in a sick way, not taking advantage of the situation.

This is a scene from Onyx:

Seeing this, it really shows how Lex knowing the truth about Clark, he would take advantage of Clark, chasing his loved ones.

This scene shows how the future will be between Clark and Lex: If Lex knows about Clark's secret...

I simply don't want Lex to know the truth about Clark/Superman...

Why not put Superman as a sort of a camouflage like Beast in the X-men comics used to do, showing a normal person instead of a "beast"

Superman as a sort of hologram...

You know in Onyx. You know, because the bad lex stabbedt he BK into GL is taht what made the darkness take over as opposed to Clark stabbing Kal-El with it in Crusade.

You also have to remember that Lex is one of the most powerful men in the planet with unlimited resources. He would find a way to know who Superman is regardless of already knowing or not that it was his former friend.
They even aknowledged it in the comics a while ago by having Lex know.
