No Way Home "You've Stuck Your Webs In My Business For The Last Time!" Alfred Molina Returns As Doctor Octopus

Molina doesn't have to run, but even the smallest movements won't look as energetic as 17 years ago. Even his sudden head movement during the fight will not look like before.

In the case of Robert DeNiro, all his movements, even while sitting at the table, betrayed his age in The Irishman.

I felt this way about Samuel L. Jackson's de-aging technique in Captain Marvel but I didn't let it bother me that much. Alfred Molina and his original portrayal of Doc Ock is enough for me to overlook the reality of his older self in the role again.

I'd rather they didn't de-age him. We could have seen a What If!? version where he killed Spider-Man before Peter Parker could appeal to his humanity.

Could have seen an older, more sinister Doc Ock where he really lost himself to the arms.

that's not what it's going to be at all though. but I'm guessing you know that already

The reason we are getting 2004 Doc Ock being plucked into the MCU right before his death is because the fact that he dies in his universe is why he doesn't want to go back to it. I don't think using an alternate variant older Doc Ock would work for what they are going for.

it's pretty much confirmed the Doc Ock is the same exact Doc Ock. I guess the question is about the Peter Parkers

It is completely reasonable to me to assume that Ock was saved by the arms. Or that this is just some "variant" Ock as explained in Loki. It seems unlikely that they'd go for De-aging except maybe for a small exposition scene.

My personal preference is that they go with an Ock that doesn't need to be "punched" and rather uses his arms and his genius intellect to avoid the physical altercation altogether.

it's not going to be a variant Doc Ock, the same one and from the sound of it he'll be de-aged to the same extent previous characters have already been in MCU installments

I pray to God that when Doc Ock makes his entrance in NWH it will be with the approaching thuds:otto:

And after hearing those thuds, maybe it will be Stilt Man who shows up in the MCU!

Bit out of topic, but congratulations to him on getting re-married. Had no idea he and Jennifer Lee were together, but his casting in Frozen 2 now makes more sense.

What happened to Rosalie Octavius?

Jill Gascoine. She passed away from Alzheimer's last year.

Man, Michael Giacchino has the potential to make a reallly great score here if given the chance.

That’s if Jon Watts and Kevin Feige want all those musical callbacks in the score. Giacchino will likely want to do it but if they find it distracting…

We’ll probably have Elfman and Horner’s main Spider-man themes quoted but I don’t think we’ll hear the motifs for the villains brought back. I would be excited if they took that extra step, though.
