The Giants played great. I give Plax a lot of credit. He has played injured all year and has still put up big numbers.

That being said...does anyone else think it was incredibly stupid and a bit selfish of Tony Romo to use his bye week for a vacation?

I would call it poor decision making....on romo's part

I think so. Hanging out in Cancun with your celebrity girlfriend when you have a playoff game next Sunday wasn't the brightest move on Romo's part.

No it wasn't. Not by a long shot. Still, guess its all part of the maturing process, eh?

Perhaps, but then when they got a defense it was the line, then it was the refs. Now it is the defense and running game. You guys are all about excuses. The Colts defense was always good enough to make play-offs, and therefore good enough to win a superbowl (not a single team in the play-offs lack the potential to win the superbowl). Again, the defense has kept Peyton in the game and yet he just can't win when its on his shoulders.

Whose you guys? Im simply defending my opinion against yours, DO NOT lump me in with Surf DUI and Slim. Im not tryin gto defend The Colts, im simply stating the loss is not entirely Manning's fault. The simple FACT is that the Colts were not as good as there record indicated or as many of us thought. They have deficiancies on the Offensive Line, and a ton on defense. You simply throw everything I say out as excuses, but when your two best defensive players are out of the lineup and non existant it will hurt your team greatly.

Peyton had a tremednous game, 33-of-48 for 402 yards with three touchdowns plus two picks.....I would hardly put the loss squarely on his shoulders. Every single article I have read states the cause of the loss was mistakes by the Colts, alot of them believe Marvins fumble was the turning point, also Peyton's pick, but the number one thing was the defenses inability to stop a Number 2 RB and a Number 2 QB from going up and down the field on you.

See, the whole thing boils down to the fact he lost the game for them, again. If they won the game, people would be saying "Oh he won because he was relaxed after his vacation!". In Dallas, Romo didn't go on vacation.:csad:

It's just dumb, really. He knew damn well that's the last thing he needed to be doing at a time like that, where he should have been concerned about getting his behind in a film room instead of sipping margaritas by the beach with a pop star.

I lost some respect for Romo with that tantrum he threw at the end of the game. That was bad.

I never had much respect for Romo to begin with. I mean, if the season ended in November, he would be one of the greats.

How did he lose the game for us? Was he responsible for two sure TD's being droped? Was he responsible for all of the penalty's? Was he responsible for the secondary not making plays and the o-line becoming swiss cheese in the second half? I hold him accountable for not throwing the ball away on the two big sacks and a couple of decisions, but all and all he played a solid game.

I didn't see it. What happened?

He kept complaing about a call, I think he was lobbying for a pass interference. He kept throwing his arms up and down screaming at the refs. This went on till the next play where he grabbed the ref by the shoulder(not really forcefully), after which he was given a personal foul. It was like 3rd and 20 or soemthing like that....it was either the last drive or the 2nd to last.

Oh ****. What an idiot. I don't care if you are a rookie fresh out of college or a vet with as many years as Farve under your belt. You should know not to EEEEEVER lay a finger on a ref.

I thought the penalty that made it 3rd and 20 came on that weak intentional grounding call and Romo was just lobbying against it while they deliberated.

edit: The only penalty Romo got in the 4th quarter was for grounding with 4:16 left in the game.

I remember Tony screaming and smacking his hands(right after the announcers were saying how cool in the pocket he always is) ;)

:cries:

Your love for Maroney is hilarious....the simple FACT is Addai has had the better career thus far, and its not really close. As for Bush I still stand by my statement that he is overhyped, and IS NOT a featured back.

Ok, he's had the better career. My argument was who was playing the better football? And it isnt even close, Maroneys red hot and Addai is ice cold. Now that Indy lost that doesnt even matter,

As for the others, Leinart was IR pretty early this year, 5 games I believe so how can you make an assessment that he stinks and can't get it done with Fitz and Boldin, when he got hurt:huh: .

Because I watched the games?? He was a joke, they would put in Warner when they actually had to score. But in his playing time,he qb rating was 62%, he had 4 interceptions and 2 touchdowns and averaged 129 yards a game with Larry Fitz and Anquan Boldin. Under Warner, Fitz himself averaged 94 a game. He wont even start play next year after Warners steller season. If his name was something other than Matt Leinart, hed be done.

Next on to Vince Young.....he is truly a project at the QB position. He has bad mechanics which have been well documented, plus he has a really tough time reading defenses. Didn't he have one of the lowest Wonderlic scores ever? Weapons or not I believe he will continue to struggle.

Mechanics my ass, watch the game. He hits his recieversin the chest or hands 90% of the time. Like I said, he 8 different guys in his playoff game. He fidns the open man and spreads the ball. If was Brady it would be "wow brady hit 8 different recievers hes so good". This draft has some real good recievers, you can bet Young will have help next season and show you what he can do. That said, they need to fire their qbs coach.

As for Peterson, I will bet you any amount of money that he finishes in the top 2 or 3 next year in rushing well ahead of your boy Maroney.

His numbers for his final 6 games after his 296 yard performance:

-305 yards
-51.2 yards a game
-80 carries
-3.8 ypc
-4 touchdowns

Teams know about him now, he aint gonna sneak up on nobody.

Oh and Owens will never be a Patriot.

Probably not.

I thought they gave him a personal foul call.....I just remember him going nuts, he liked grabbed the ref then they threw the flag, they showed Coughlin and the Giants lobbying for the call and then go nuts when the flag got thrown....maybe im just confused. Either way he was storming around like a baby. and he did grab the ref at one point.

But isn't he supposed to be the quarterback who can read a defense like no other? And isn't it awfully odd that he has these "match up problems" any time he has a big game and it is on his shoulders? I think he just chokes.

My opinion is that if Tom Brady wasn't in the league, he would be considered the top "big game" quarterback in the league. It's the Tom Brady factor.

Romo will be back... it took Steve Young, Peyton Manning, all those guys years before they finally won it... I think Romo can add his name to that group... a couple of additions on defense here and there... a couple of changes on the staff... and the Cowboys should be back in there soon enough.

It's just dumb, really. He knew damn well that's the last thing he needed to be doing at a time like that, where he should have been concerned about getting his behind in a film room instead of sipping margaritas by the beach with a pop star.

So these guys should be watching film fifteen hours a day?

I really don't know what happened to The Cowboys, they seemed suceesful running with Barber, and then seemed to go away from it. Same thing with T.O., what did he have 4 catches?

It was the 05 Colts all over... pass rush negates everything you do on offense... you can't make plays under that kind of pressure... Romo got tight... as did the rest of the team... its really on the coaches... not Phillips... I just think these assistants didn't do their job prepping these guys enough... but the defense was atrocious too.

Why couldn't he wait three weeks and go after the season?

WHy the hell does it matter when you get time off anyway? Are we talking about this if the girl is Jessica Smith? Or Joe Blow... the guy likes the spot light... he likes hanging with the celebrities... it has absolutely nothing with how he played on Sunday... the guy got tight... but so did the ENITRE TEAM... it really has no correlation... people just need something to talk about to kill the time between the weekends... that's why ESPN and everyone else makes it an issue.
